I have never dated but I got the same advice from a past co-worker if I ever decide to start using the apps. He said to go out with them right away instead of messaging back and forth. At first I thought that was crazy but he justified it the same way you did. It’s so much easier to get a feel for someone face to face (which is so obvious but in this day and age we’re all so stuck online) instead of through messages. Once he explained it to me it made a lot more sense just like how you said it.

Completely agree with meeting up earlier with dating online (or talking on phone)... avoids the pedestal effect and you get a better feel about someone than email and text. With email and text communication, there is too much room for proofing and editing and someone could really end up different in person.

Careful with the medication for the incontinence issue. Our dog was also on hormonal meds and she got toxicity from it. She survived but it was so scary. I’m sure they probably already mentioned the possible side effects but we were not aware of this.

Congratulations! I hope your happiness continues to increase. I totally get it about the height issue. It does matter. My son is 6'1" and he's taller than most men, in the 90th percentile. In fact according to American height charts, 75% of men are under 6 feet tall.

The height thing wouldn't bother me if the MEN didn't have a complex about it! Almost every guy I've dated/been on a date with has been around my height or shorter, and it was always fine until they made ME feel weird about my height.... Like, neither of us can control our genetics, and if you're insecure about your height or stuck in gender stereotypes, don't project that on me... 🤔 NOW I have a preference for men who are taller than me.
