For me what needed is good and easy access to the island like transportation but leave the natural beauty for future generation to see. I love Batanes the way it is. But if you meant is more accomodation or lodging for tourist yes it will be great Batanes will generate more income as well. Love to visit Batanes in the near future

Nipa are palms that grow in mangrove/swampy areas in the Philippines and probably in S.E. Asia. These leaves are woven and used for roofing and walls of huts.

Hello there. Wow, now you are on a treaking trip there, Mergim! The poeple there are amazingly friendly and peaceful. It was said recently that an old palace was discovered there. You seem to be not used in hiking or treaking. Hehehe. We can hear you catching your breath in the camera. Ate Maricar seems to just have took it without sweat there. Hehehe. Nipa Hut or Bahay Kubo is a house in the Philippines during the days when there is no bricks or concrete yet It is made if bamboo and nipa..the roof is made of coconut leaves or anahaw leaves ( national leaves if the Philippines)

I have enjoyed this video so much! Love the walks you went through cemented walkways there houses to houses, even finding a couple sari-sari stores. Even the elementary school being up there going up through those steps finding sort of hidden there is just fascinating to me, finally, those kids hopping/jumping the steps reminds me of me as a kid in my elementary school. We do not have a country house. Those are US terms only. Bahay Kubo or Nipa Hut is the humbled house of our heritage. It's been a house for our ancestors even until now you can still see bahay Kubo as the main house. Today, bahay Kubo is widely used in resorts, beaches and some other reastaurants. But it will never be a country house in terminologies.

@@alice.wonder yes. That's right. But the term Country house is only for US. Because country house, are meant for those who leave in the in the country-side. Remember there are Country songs genre? Because those terms are applicable only in the US. Their country house are well built house as well but it just so happened it was in their countryside. Compared to our humbled bahay Kubo, which mostly came from natural and organic materials. Our country side versions are the provinces, barrios and alikes. The Rural areas. But bahay Kubo will never be a country house. In today's generations, the bahay Kubo gained more useful function other than being a typical farm and provincial houses. As what I've shared, bahay Kubo now adays are being used in resorts, beaches and even restaurants. That is why. But I get your point. It's just that bahay Kubo or just simply kubo is not the bahay Kubo we used to know before
