Having them play blitz was a bit unfair for both parties, Pia because shes getting up there in age and Levy because it makes the win feel less deserved despite him playing very well.

@@somethingorother7440 How does it make the win feel less deserved? He didn't lose a single format. He drew in classical, he won in rapid and he also won in blitz. @benson21 she's just older and is generally going to be worse then a 20 something (30 something now?) man when it comes to reaction times and quick thinking. Levy even addressed this at like 4 minutes into the video. I'm not saying Levy didn't deserve to win but it would have been better to win with a 15 minute timer than 3 minutes. That's just my opinion though.

@@somethingorother7440 well levy won with a 15 minute timer. And levy said otb blitz is very different to online, if this was online it could be a bit more unfair. Otb pia definitely has way more blitz experience so it was a fair match up and even the scoreline shows it

Man, this video is a realization to me of how Levy is just as human as any of us. He has feelings and eaven tho he is one of the most famous creators of chess, he somehow manages to balance it all out. He is every thing a chess content creator should be and more. He also manages to be a husband, a father to his dog Benjimen, he really is a good example to follow. And if he ever reads this and thinks that he is not. Trust me, he influences more than he thinks in the life of every one. He has been a very positive demonstration of how a person has his defects and even tho he has them, he is not afraid. And that has inspired me to not be afraid as well. To not be afraid as a chess player, and to not be afraid of my own mind. We admire u Levy and we respect u as a chess player. Not only could NONE of you say you're top 1,500 in ANYTHING, but world champions at any point... Y'all are just children, creating horrible foundations for yourself. Be kind, it's that simple. This was an amazing match, to show the talents of 2 brilliant people in their field, and to show the evolution of chess. What a brilliant display by both of you, and I hope to see more of these in the future. 👏 And to the rest of you, I've spent 34 years on this planet waiting to smack one of you in the face. Levy, I'm a 40yo who doesn't play chess. I understand the tactics and the logic, but put me in front of a board or web board and I'll blunder begining to end. Your channel captivates me because chess is obviously one of the best games ever, but mostly because you're a great, intelligent, content creator and chess player. This series against Pia was a joy to follow and she's an amazing character. I understand you, sometimes, get into your own head and let outside influences put you down a bit. And that's normal, we all have those moments. This all to say that, at the end of the day, the only real compentition, REAL competition... is against yourself in life, if you try to be better today than you were yesterday, by any margin, then you're doing fine. This goes for everything in life... and if everyone understood that, we'd live in a better world. I'm glad you had this amazing experience, and won the match. But honestly, when you agreed to this experience, you had already won. The final results were not the point... I know you're probably not going to read this, but there it is... Congratulations on the results, but especially, coongratulations on the experience. Thank you for the content.

That fact you can't tell the difference between a grandmother and an older woman, says a lot about your lack of intelligence.... just saying. It also explains why you're so jealous that you're unable to play chess at such a high level.

Man, this was such great content, I truly enjoyed a lot this competition, was so nice to get back home after work and study and watch these videos while I ate something... thanks a lot to everyone involved. Also, please remember Levy, that every negative opinion you get from people speaks more about the person giving it, than yourself, so I really wish you don't pay attention to those kind of comments, feed yourself with positivity; was great to see you growing during this event and get some self-stem back and some confidence on the skills you already have.

Respect! Have to be honest I thought that Pia would win this handily. Very happy to be proven wrong. Especially impressive that you did so well in the Classical and Rapid. Very nice job keeping it together and "just playing chess". I wonder if being so tired from the schedule might have helped to not be sidelined as much by anxiety? Anyway, great job. You know your stuff and, when you don't get in your own way, you are clearly GM material.

There are too many people in this world that never go for their dreams because of the fear of criticism and not measuring up. For someone in Levy's position who can easily stay retired and make more money in chess than most professionals, to decide to still pursue a title that means a lot to him and face all of the criticism - that act gives permission to so many people around the world to get after what's theirs and to be okay with being criticized. Your sensitivities is what makes you likeable, and your ability to pursue greatness and not get destroyed by negatively is what makes you a legend. I've been watching since 2020 and have endless respect for the grind. Cheers to pursuing your passions.

Levy won through study, determination, and finally being able to relax a bit and actually enjoy his games. Pia won by teaching Levy how to have fun again and recover his enthusiasm. The chess world won because of these fantastic games, the format, and the overall respect these players and commentators all showed. And, of course, Levy won by points. Congratulations, Levy.

Thank you both, Levi and Pia, for such an instructive and memorable match of chess skills and experience full of many dramatic moment as well as leaning potential for anyone actively participating in the game. I especially appreciate the cordial, respectful, sportsman-like spirit of the whole match - no trash talks, no excuses, no selfish self promotions or below the belt attacks (Robert Fischer's behavior in the match with Spassky comes to mind, as well as recent excesses of players like Kramnik or Niemann), just friendly gestures, post game analyses, as well as great example to follow for anyone who misses the times when chess was very much an affair of gentlemen (and gentlewomen...?). When Levy gallantly played the lost sixth rapid game to the very end, allowing his opponent to savor her comeback and recover a bit for the last lost three games, I remembered the match between Capablanca and Lasker in Havana, when Lasker, losing his last game, stood up, started applauding and proclaimed - "Ladies and gentlemen, long live the new World Champion!" Thank you both once again for reminding us all what chess once stood for (and hopefully will one day again...)

Thank you Levy for this amazing battle. Thanks to Anna and Pia Cramling and everyone who had part in making this tournament possible. This tournament was so interesting to follow, when Pia was winning I hoped that you'd find the best move, and when you were winning, I was wishing that Pia could find a way to bounce back. As your follower and fan, I was obviously cheering for you, but as Pia is such an amazing and kind-hearted person, I was also hoping for her to succeed. I'm glad to have seen this event live, excited to see how the battle would go on, but most importantly, how this event brought together two generations and fans of both you and Pia, as well as Anna's fans. I hope you succeed and take more amazing wins like this and get your GM title you've been working so hard to get, and that you remember to also enjoy every game, every move and every rook sacrifice you make❤

Congrats on the match! I really enjoyed following it. I was rooting for both of you. I've posted a couple times talking about how much I like your chess board that I bought last week, but I really do like the board a lot. I've finally gotten a chess clock to go with it and I have the perfect laptop bag to fit everything for my travel chess set (which includes your board). My dad taught me chess when I was young and got me into a chess club that his buddy from work was running. I love chess but dropped out of it in my teen years but my dad just passed away a couple weeks ago and I've been getting back into chess even before he passed, but now I really want to pursue it to kind of honor his memory, and to have something both positive and fun that I can do while keeping him in mind. Thanks for keeping me inspired while also making it fun! ...even though you obviously don't know me. Hope you see this just so you know that you put good vibes out in the world.

Kudos dude for playing. Watched all of Friday and most of Saturday and you deserved the win. Friday was especially impressive I thought. Had a hard time picking a favorite, as you and I are of the same generation, but Pia reminds me of my own mom (me being Finnish), but I guess it was never really about who wins or loses. Just good times playing chess and giving the people an event. But congratulations, well deserved, and I'll give you a lot of credit for your humble attitude and respectful words towards your opponent. You're both legends.
