How to videos need to be long to be helpful. Maybe break these videos up into more specific sections to give us more videos with shorter watch times? Might make searching for specific issues easier for following along too.

Great work. This is really helping people and is highly objective. These open designs that use VESC and where you know the components allows a person to create a board that is not controlled by Future Motion and that can be continually updated. Just the increase in the battery is huge. People are using One Wheels with a 26 mile range when they can have a much larger range. Also, One Wheel's software is very limited and cannot be customized. That is where VESC comes in. Open source strike again.

For measuring the width, simply place the wheel on a really flat surface. Use a square to butt up against the point on the axel, mark a point on the surface, do it for both sides and measure the distance between the two points.

A nice simple and fun looking build! Didn't know the VESC firmware had so much built in. If you plan to ride this a lot, next time you have it apart, put some heatshrink(Or rubber grommets) around the main battery cables where they pass through the aluminium tube, over time any burrs on the inside you missed will cut through the soft silicon and you'll be very glad the batteries have fuses! :) (It can also cut through PVC, but far, far slower. Silicon is just so easy to split!)

So fascinating. I wish I had the tools to work on making my own, because it definitely seems plausible. Hell, this makes me wonder when a proper competitor to Onewheel is going to come by, because they certainly could use the competition. Especially in Canada. It's hard to get one here for a decent price, and if a competitor popped up in Canada at a significant decrease in price, it would probably sell like wild! Very interesting, very cool. I love watching builds of things.
@bytesizedengineering

I had hoped to do just that. But as I learned more about lithium battery packs, I learned that in order to get the 48V, the battery has to be a certain length. I couldn't really fit another battery on the other side along with everything else. It would have made the board even longer and it's already longer than I wanted. This was a prototype so there are things I want to improve. The balance is really not an issue. It's not even noticeable once you're riding it.
