I like your reviews, but you can be a little annoying about some things. HDR is always bad with these displays. Yes, we know, rgb is a gimmick, yes we know. The most important thing about a monitor for gaming is, in my opinion, black smearing (va), refresh rate, build quality, and display quality in general. Back light, panel uniformity, brightness, and contrast. And of course, the connections and usb hub capability

I had the G34WQC and it was pretty bad, but I thought that for the price I shouldn't expect better. However after only a month of use it just straight up died and wouldn't turn on so I RMA'd it. My options were get a refund or wait for it to be repaired. I got the refund and instead of it I bought the Xiaomi Mi 34 ultrawide and that monitor is better in every single way than the Gigabyte. Better color calibration and QC, higher quality materials and design. All of that for $50 less. So I was so happy that the Gigabyte trash died on me because I would never have gotten the Xiaomi which is a much better monitor.

You can likely google both and see what panels they use. None of these people actually make panels. They buy them from other companies and strap a driver board to it. You can find the actual panel model number in each one and find out if they are literally giving you the same panel with a different name. It's like "Gaming Chairs" they are all made by the same Chinese factory and everyone just slaps their own name on it.

This is why I prefer Gamers Nexus reviews of PC oriented products, they don't do fluff pieces on overpriced PC products and they'll dock it for it's price AND performance. They have a firmer grasp of what the average consumer is willing to spend and expect, this isn't that at all. TVs are quickly making gaming monitors obsolete in both performance and price, not to mention real estate with the sizes you can get. For the same price or a little more, I can get a TV for 55in that has more features and better specs aside from input latency and a lower refresh rate. I'd rather compromise there than for the few benefits I get with a monitor like this that offers far less for my money.

@TheJjjoj
@TheJjjoj 2 жыл бұрын
Motion blur is an issue that comes from pairing an underpowered backplane with a particular display type. It's not a panel or panel type issue. These companies keep trying to use cheaper backplanes with VA panels, which require at least LTPO backplanes in order to be effectively driven. "VA has more motion blur than IPS" is both inaccurate and frustrating because it's such misinformation. However, VA panel based monitors typically do suffer more motion blur, because, again, trying to cheap out on the backplane.
@KissesLoveKawaii

The Samsung Odyssey line is a proper VA monitor without that crap, isn't it?
@TheJjjoj
@TheJjjoj 2 жыл бұрын
@@KissesLoveKawaiiYou are incorrect. That's not how these technologies work. Motion is a matter of pixel transition. The backplane of a display drives the pixels by sending specfic current to switch the subpixels into an on or off stste. Any pixel transition requires an adjustment to the amount of current. On the whole, TN panels are the easiest to drive, then IPS, then VA, then OLED. TN panels can be paired with the cheapest A-si backplane and still have solid motion performance. IGZO backplanes were developed specifically for IPS because of the cost and power inefficiency of LTPS backplanes. They meet the required current capabilities of high refresh rate IPS displays. LTPO was developed as a lower power draw alternative to LTPS for OLED displays but they are also ideal for VA panels. A good example of a VA panel that uses a higher end backplane is samsung's oddyssey neo g7. It has some of fastest response times and least motion blur on the market yet uses a VA panel.

The HDR 400 standard calls for true 8-bit color channels, which is what we expect from SDR monitors. If you want 10-bit color channels (actual HDR), then you need to move up to HDR 600. That said, some HDR 600 (and higher) monitors that have 60+ Hz refresh rates, will fall back to 8-bit color channels when set to more than 60 Hz. When the monitor falls back 8-bit color channels, it stops being HDR 600 (or higher) compliant. Edit: The HDR 400 spec calls for 8-bit color channels. That means that a monitor must have at LEAST 8 bits per color channel. HDR 600 and above calls for 10-bit color channels. One of the great things about HDR content is the reduction of color banding due to the larger color range that's only possible because it's using more bits per color. HDR 400 monitors do NOT guarantee 10-bit color channels. If you find an HDR 400 monitor that does proper 10-bit, then consider that to be a nice bonus because that monitor wasn't required to do so when the only thing you are told is that it's HDR 400 compliant.

Yeah the cm model is good other than the speakers which almost no monitor has good speakers lol. My hdr worked flawless with gsync out the box and ocd to 223hz. My stand also works well so idk why they showed a ef’d up screen unless the rgb model is that terrible.

700 USD for a monitor that has height adjustment doesn't work, functionally no HDR, a VA panel with "Quantum Dots" (that no one can confirm is doing what its supposed to), and RGB that will reflect off of the screen and annoy more than anything sounds like a bad deal. Also one chapter says "Corsair software impressions" instead of "Coolermaster software impressions"... FYI

Can your employees do their research before making statements on price wasting people's time clicking a video just to find out the price is no where near a good deal? I'm currently watching this video on a monitor with the same specs I bought for $150 less. It was NOT on sale either.

I know the complaint about the stand wasn't really about the RGB, but I'm sure the RGB will look a lot better when not under studio lighting. Not that it would matter for most people, since monitor arms exist.
@MinistryOfMagic_DoM
@MinistryOfMagic_DoM 2 жыл бұрын
You really shouldn't have to spend $50-150 for a monitor arm when you are already paying $400 over the value of the monitor. The stand should just work.
@DankoleClouds
@DankoleClouds 2 жыл бұрын
@@MinistryOfMagic_DoM The only way for a included monitor stand to be better than a monitor arm is for the included stand to be a monitor arm. I couldn't manage without my monitor arms. That said if you wanted the best value, you wouldn't buy this monitor in the first place.

Even CHG70 has quantum dots with the VA panel, also 144hz and curved. It also has HDR600, 200$ cheaper when it was at MSRP. Old panel but does everything except the ultrawide. The only downsides of that panel are ghosting and flickering. I have a G9 Neo and the CHG70 both are" VA panels but no ghosting on G9.

So I accidentally hit the clip button, and I had that first loop of about the first seven seconds playing over and over again.. and I thought it was a running joke at first.. like some sort of product joke but I guess not.. oh well.. one of these days people are going to have display standards.. you know like for themselves in in what their standards are for what is being displayed.. I have to believe this.. every time my faith is shaking like with digital projectors first in the theater, OR dual digital projectors in theater LOL.. or learning that Counter-Strike players regularly stretch 4x3 to 16x9 at a low resolution... Or learning that people regularly play with rainbow six siege gamma blasted or adjust th3 mip to remove the textures from battlefield.. or think of sub 40 inch display is big in 2022 LOL or that chromatic aberration should ever be in anything ever.. or that the temporal rate for TAA should adjust as you're moving about the the game cuz obviously when you're moving around it should be blurrier because you won't notice it as much, which amounts to getting gas lid as soon as you stop moving and look around LOL.. especially with dlss but apparently that's an Nvidia standard so there is that.. really good for screenshots right? Really good for static video.. see it is in motion cuz you're not moving but we're moving the camera and everything's clear.. and nobody cares.. So the theater projectors got better.. maybe.. maybe people will too..?
