How can a garage charge £3000 to not fix a fault ,should have had their money back ! Misdiagnosis.

I know someone that spent almost £10k at BMW , they had a problem with their M6 ( some engine problem). Yeah, so after spending pretty much £10k and they had the same problem! They didn't get anywhere in court either.

Helping a local food bank is a fantastic idea James. We helped our local food bank, when we got married we asked for donations (as we had our home and things we need) so we raised £1000 and the food bank was run by the Salvation Army, when we went down with the money the guy had tears in his eyes, fair to say it was emotional..Anyway he said he can't take the cash so we asked what food and items are needed..It was an eye opener and many don't realise that some people cannot even afford basic items like sanitary products for woman etc, toiletries along with the obvious food items....Its quite sad that people in 2024 have to resort to using a food bank...

@@andrewhamilton8954 Unfortunately there is a lot of truth in what you say. My wife was on minimum wage working in the kitchen at a large factory where the production staff, due to the union, were very well paid. She knew people who, despite that, used the food bank with the attitude 'why pay when it's free'. On passing our local facility the cars parked outside are invariably large, new SUV's.

Good for you for supporting the food bank and to the people who volunteer but I've got to agree with the other comments here. Food banks aren't able to determine whether users really are in need or just freeloaders. I don't understand why teachers and nurses are used as examples (in the media as well as here) of food bank users, some may say they are underpaid but there are many who earn a lot less who are surely more deserving. I would rather support them unless somebody can clarify for me. Nice vid as always though, thanks.

Just love the look of the Clio . wonderful colour. As far as DPF and regeneration.most cars can perform a static regeneration at idle.the old saying of drive it like it's stolen is long gone.as long as engine temperature is correct and pressure across the DPF is correct and all your glow plugs are working then it will quite happily do a static regeneration. Also pay particular attention to oil levels if level is above Max and the oil smell a bit of diesel then it's a sure sign that either regeneration has been halted prematurely in the past or there is an underlying issue.hence if you pick up a diesel fitted with a DPF oil level and smell should be correct. Also once you have carried out a forced regen.drive it for a few days and let it carry out a passive regen that way the saturation level will fall to an acceptable level about 10% depending on age of DPF .. I DO less than 5000 miles a year and have never had issues.i just change the oil and filter every 4 months.

After cleaning the dpf you still need to tell the car that’s it’s been cleaned and reset the reading! Need to check the readings and make sure sensors working plus if fitted Ford have an injector that gets block to inject fuel into the dpf to assist the clean!

Modern autos are an absolute nightmare. Its hard to justify a spend when its not been repaired. Some garages will discount some of the labour if its the case but its rare. Its all about using the right garage for the problem.

On my work van 73 plate transit custom you can scroll through the menu and see the loading of the dpf. Anything over 85% and it allows you to perform a static regeneration, takes about 10 mins tops. Why oh why don’t all diesel cars/vans have this. Would literally save so much aggro.

Dpf problems don't usually cause smoke bud, Id have tried some injector cleaner and max revs in 3rd up a hill, diesel mot is a smoke test, looking for black smoke. Start with a scan, if it's not saying dpf full, some scanners measure the %of soot, then it's not that, in tank dpf cleaner can't work as anything is totally attomized in the cylinder, injector cleaner does it's job on the injectors prior to combustion. Ford's are bad for injectors on tdci. Handy experience on doing a re gen tho.

You will not see plumes of smoke in a DPF Regen. The particles are burnt off to the point they’ll be so small you won’t see it! If you have clouds of smoke coming from a car with a DPF you have an issue such as a split boost hose. A cracked DPF. So actually your car displaying no faults and not smoking at all is doing exactly what it should be!!😊

RS used to be the top spec on Renault cars, that Clio isn’t even an RS, it’s an RS line. We have a Capture RS complete with all the badges and RS seats. My Austral has the 3 cylinder 1.2 turbo engine and is a full hybrid. Time people realised a car battery is doing well if it lasts 3 years especially if only used for local driving. Any fault at all that should be the first point of examination. If people joined RAC a call out that’s free, will accurately diagnose problems. Oh, teachers and nurses do not, need a food bank at all. They earn around 30K a year and as such need to learn to budget! Try being disabled on benefits that just about covers rent and fuel bills. I don’t need a food bank so they don’t. When I was working I would work up to 15 hours a day on British Rail to earn enough to live on, now I can barely walk!

I still don't know how car garages can grab your money, not solve the problem and keep the money. That should be illegal! You are paying for a service, that is to fix the car. they haven't, so they shouldn't charge anything! If they lost money because they used the parts cannon, it's their problem. Imagine you go to a restaurant, order a beef wellington, they bring you caviar and they make you pay for it. It's their problem!
