The differences between the routes/animes start from just after Shirou summons Saber, as they meet Archer and Rin. In the Fate route, Shirou doesn't use a command seal to stop Saber from attacking Archer. Rin loses her second command seal, rescuing Archer, and he is out of commission for a while.

It's never stated what explicit relationship Kiritsugu and Fujimura had, considering she was the daughter of one of Kiritsugu's contacts. The way I see it - I see them having the same relationship that Shirou and Sakura has here in UBW, where it's platonic coming from Kiritsugu's end whereas Fujimura had some sort of puppy crush on him. Also, this date is important for Shirou's development in this route - with Rin wanting him to have fun and *live* for once, considering Shirou doesn't think he is deserving of being alive at all. Caster is a riduculously OP mage - she's a Servant, so she's bound by the Grail rules but there's no mage alive in modern time that has even 1/4th of her abilities. It's why the other Servants like Archer keep saying that a Servant like her would make puppets of her own Masters because her magical abilities are a thousandtimes more powerful than any mage alive. Contrast this with Gilles de Rais in F/Zero, who was a subpar mage (and whose only source of power was the Prelati Grimoire).

8:39 okay so, just to go ahead and tell you, since I know you are far enough in. 2006 route differs mainly in that Shirou falls for Saber, thus the Saber route, he idolizes her, wants to protect her, etc. It is way more slice of life than this one honestly. It also tells you who archer is, without actually saying it, where as this one flat out tells you,but to be a little more specific, when you figure out who archer is, just in case you don't yet SPOILER WARNING:.... 2006 leads to him being who he is.
