Man Tri-brigade/Scareclaw might be my new favorite variation of Tri-brigade decks because man was it making some crazy plays.

One amazing play you can do with this deck: Light Hearts effect to search for the field spell is not once per turn, meaning if you pop it with visas and then it brings itself back and then link away your first copy of light heart to make a second one, you can search for the field spell again. The reason you do this is so whenever you get barren blossom to the grave and you get to draw a card, you can send your second copy of the field spell so you’re able to get that extra card in hand without having to send a hand trap or something back into the deck

Something that you have to be specially careful when running this deck is how to start your play. If you opt to normal summon the Cat, and Ash or Call by the Grave hits you, pretty much the only option you have to not end with an open board is to follow-up is with Kerass (and that will only work if you have a monster to discard). Imperm also can easily stop the Cat since its effect is not a quick-effect. I'm pointing out this because most players run the maximum amount of each of this cards in their decks. Hence, 8 cards to worry about if your are going 2nd. Ideally, if you can, start the combo using Scareclaws instead of the Cat or start with Tri-Brigade to flush out the Ash.

I'm posting this under this scareclaw video specifically, thanks to anyone that can answer me: Played against scareclaw today at my local and had black-winged assault dragon, it had 4 feather counters on it and he summoned tryheart, thought about activating the effect to tribute the dragon to nuke the field. Will tryheart be effected by it since it tributed itself for cost, meaning it wasn't in defence position anymore, or will it be uneffected anyways?

Tri-Heart will be unaffected. Someone used Mirrorjade against my Tri-Heart and chained Branded in Red to remove it when it resolves and Tri-Heart was still unaffected by the banish effect. So it only matters if the monster was in defense when the effect activated.

This deck is crazy consistant but I can tell you that backrow removal cards are definitely needed. Getting a win on Eldlich is next to impossible unless you have a God hand.

It's the eternal war between handtraps and backrow removal in bo1 format, I personally lean towards going balls to the wall handtraps only so I can have the best possible chance to beat combo and just let the much less frequent eldlich and other monki flip type decks get a free win on me if they win the coin toss.

@@jimtsap04 That's exactly what I went with. If you can stop crazy combos you have a better chance of getting the blind 2nd turn OTK. Going first IMO I'd rather go pure Tri-brigade ending with revolt, just so that on turn three I can go scareclaw if they make it past tri-brigade.

Not really. Got myself 2 light heart, 2 tri heart and 3 of every main deck monster and the field spell and 2 arrival, 1 straddle and one twinsaw and some of the random traps for 40 dollars in the tcg. But if you want to know about masterduel. Then the Reich heart, tri heart, light heart and the field spell are ur and you run 3 of the reichheart and the field spell as a must. The rest of the cards aren't too expensive so it'll cost you a pretty penny. But it's totally worth it cause they're fun

I've won enough games against decks that resolve Grass to know that it gets used plenty enough, and just from the maths alone the amount of advantage it can generate is kinda nutty. For archetypes that use the graveyard heavily that card's a potential +20 vs. a 40 card deck that isn't also digging through their deck before you get to activate it, though you're typically getting around half as many usable cards from that dump when factoring in the odds of dupes and dead dumps, which is still more than any draw spell is doing for you. Yet in the OCG that's still not enough to outperform decks on the Ishizu cards without it, funny enough. Building a deck around Grass messes with that deck's consistency a notable amount, especially when you're trying to get to specific cards to both control the opponent's graveyard and summon your own stuff using it.

you can also make bagooska gryphon lines summoning tri-heart and searching the scareclaw omni, I did not had reichheart in the time of the video so it was not possible for me, but yes is a tri-brigade deck, scareclaw is just a suplementary engine like branded or brave
