Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka could have had a connection to Darth Maul in Star Wars Rebels and we look at a Star Wars theory of how Dave Filoni might have made this possible. RIP Ray Stevenson!

Well, the man was a fantastic actor and the character was a wonderful breath of fresh air when compared to the usual Jedi/Sith trope. It's going to be very hard to find an actor that will do the role justice. I look forward to seeing where Balan's journey takes him in Ahsoka Season 2, though.

When Maul says, "he will avenge us," I immediately thought that in that moment, Maul's hot fury left him. What remained, was an exhausted bitterness and resentment regarding the forces shaping galactic history and institutions far larger and more "tectonic" or "tidal" than he had the power to oppose. He saw the same in OB1. They were both colossal victims of history and circumstance. Maul looked to the Chosen One to destroy or tame those forces of history and to sweet much away that needed sweeping..... ....we didn't know about Baylon, then. But Baylon feels the same in life, as I believe Maul felt, in that moment of death. He was so tired at that point. Too tired to even hate our boy, OB1 any longer.

Great question! I think a Balin fresh off of Order 66, would, as mentioned, be as revenge focused as Maul. But moreso, I think someone like Maul would've been a springboard to forgetting the past- "breaking the cycle"- and trying to create something without those institutions

I am excited for Star Wars Ahsoka season 2 though the one thing I had to wonder about Baylan and Shin, is Shin still Baylan’s apprentice, or did Baylan cast Shin aside and abandoned her like Darth Sidious did when he cast Maul aside and abandoned him and replaced him by making Dooku as his new apprentice.

If you haven't read Coruscant Nights, then you deserve to treat yourself! But it properly starts with the Darth Maul novel, Shadow Hunter, which introduces some of the characters Michael Reaves would develop in his other SW novels (including probably the best EU droid character ever!)...

I’ve watched StarWars Rebels over & over again because of it’s superbly written story line and fantastic animation which makes me want to watch it over and over again unlike what Lucas Films is forcing upon us today that is absolute garbage, terrible storyline, absolutely horrendous animation & sets, plus storylines that don’t make any sense unless your hair is purple or blue!!! They need to do a second season of Obi Wan and have him finish out the Crimson Dawn storyline from Solo, it would allow for the Twin Suns battle to be done live-action, . In a new hope, when Obi wan goes to the cantina, he’s talking at the bar with Chewbacca, like he already knows him - he just hasn’t met Han yet at that point - could have quite easily already known Chewie from meeting him through the crimson dawn elements…

Darth Maul at the end reminds me of Darth Marr who spent a lifetime as a Sith and was disillusioned because of Valkyrion Marr found Redemption at the end I actually became a force ghost

Two logical conclusions, either Lady Morgan told him, it’s possible Thrawn told her. Thrawn worked it out & knew Anakin was Vader. The other, & probably most likely is he seen Anakin slaughtering Jedi. Baylan did mention he was at the temple during Order 66, Anakin had changed his name by that point. It’s possible Baylan heard clones address him as Lord Vader.

Baylan is something else for sure. I love this concept for force users seeking something beyond the order. And had he been in Maul's place with Ezra. I think we'd have an entirely different Ezra Bridger. A more calculated and pragmatic version of him. I'm very curious to see how Baylan develops in the future. Ray Stevenson was amazing for the roll, who ever they choose to re cast him with will surely do a great job. Star wars might not be perfect all around. However. Their casting choices for the most part have been great. For me anyway.

The Jax Pavan series is one of the greatest series in the Expanded Universe. One of my biggest disappointments with Disney ending the Expanded Universe was the presumably premature demise of the Jax Pavan storyline. The last book didn't feel like the end of the story, but I guess we'll never know what might have happened.

Too bad that Clancy Brown already portrayed his character in Ahsoka, he would have been amazing as the recast for Baylan! Still, there's no law that says they can't do that anyway...BTW, I really wish they would give us a group title for Baylan and his apprentice, since they don't identify as "Jedi". "Dark Jedi" or "Renegade Jedi" doesn't quite work, esp as she was NEVER a Jedi. I get why this wouldn't matter in-show to them, but it would be useful for us to discuss them! And did they ever explain why they have orange sabers and what that means?

Actually fee things in rebels, Sabine had wolf art early on, most miss mando padme connection as well, she had a silver finish n1 while flying with ahsoka, and ahsoka is connected to mando ,

It was foolish for Baylon to abandon Shin. It was Revan’s apprentice who kept him alive when he was being torchered. Without her there would not been enough of him to return to the light .

I'm of the opinion that LFL works well as a team. All the cogs in the machine work together and , what LFL creates for Star Wars is usually fantastic... unless there are last minute changes. Those last minute changes with The Mandalorian and Boba's show are what made it less than spectacular. Favreau was the major cause of those changes, insisting on his Boba Fett story, and then leaving Robby Rod to complete it without much guidance. They're still enjoyable, though.
