I think it's great you took the time to do this, guys it's just a demo, yes if your engine had this much sludge and carbon buildup though out and you put this in , there is no doubt u would damage your engine. All of the carbon and oil contaminants would plug up oil journals and pass through bearings. Would also plug oil filter forcing it into bypass , so just use small amount and change oil / filter often.

That was an amazing demonstration. I have an older small 2 stroke outboard that was in storage for at least 10 years. I cleaned the carburetor and changed the lower gear oil and checked the spark plug. I put fresh gas in it and took it out on the lake. It started ok but still ran a little fussy. It's pretty easy to show how an engine treatment works on a brand new mower/engine. But that's not a 10+ year old mower. Of course the engine treatment will work to remove the ash that's created by using a propane torch to burn the oil on the rocker arms... but that is not sludge buildup nor is it deposited onto the steel of the rocker arms. Your video lacks any modicum of science or real world testing.

Just a small bit of advice - I did a engine flush on what I thought was a relatively cleaner modern V-8 engine, without naming the engine flush, it required 4 consecutive oil changes to remove all the gunk with three literally clogged oil filters.. no problem just wanted to give a heads up before hand, if you are mechanically inclined - I would consider dropping the oil pan after your first run with the solvent and removing the valve covers and maybe doing a diesel fuel rinse through the oil galleys and clean the oil pick up screen. I probably could have avoided all those extra oil changes if I had of. just food for thought.

Hmmm...looks an awful lot like someone sprayed flex seal or some sort of bedliner material on the valve train. If I had to guess I would say the after pics are actually from before you sprayed crap all over it. The dead giveaway is the fact that there is "sludge" where the valve cover gasket makes contact with the head. There is no way sludge can build up where the gasket seats. He, being a young lad, thought he should clean the engine, “in case the previous owner hadn’t changed oil often enough.” Well, after following the directions to the letter, the results were: Gaskets started leaking, seals began leaking, and the clincher was the “chunks” liberated from where they were by the flush, clogged up critical oil passages. The reason the oil system cleaners destroy engines is say this was a cars engine. There are tons of very small oil passageways. Oil cleaners brake the buildup apart and it flows through the system and can clog those passage ways staving parts of the engine of oil causing engine failure. I have a cadillac with the ht4100 it has very tiny oil passages to the crank and if those get clogged you are screwed. You are far better off using oil with additional es that clean as it runs over long periods of time. As long as you keep up on changing your oil it will clean those part.
@commentsedited2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. All the crap went right to the oil pan. Plugged up the filter on the pickup screen on the oil pump. And you have to pull the motor mounts to get the oil pan off and change the pump and tube. Been there done that. And transmission fluid does the same thing. Right before oil change, add a quart of transmission fluid. Run it for 3 minutes and let it set till the next day and change the oil and filter.

Most modern day engine oils have the additives in now. Engine flush or cleaners strip all the fine particles from around your seals, seen so many owners spending more money because of oil leaks after flushing engines. Top fitters of manufacturers don’t recommend either. Leave your engine alone, change the oil regularly as your meant too. Simple as that.
