The Lucas has done great on my Toyota Tundra but it ate my seals on my engine I will have to replace them. I did it because it needed a clean no leaks at first but now it leakes low but it’s around my whole engine. I will stick with marvel mystery oil or the Lucas low viscosity motor treatment

I think it's great you took the time to do this, guys it's just a demo, yes if your engine had this much sludge and carbon buildup though out and you put this in , there is no doubt u would damage your engine. All of the carbon and oil contaminants would plug up oil journals and pass through bearings. Would also plug oil filter forcing it into bypass , so just use small amount and change oil / filter often.

I replaced only one badly fowled spark plug and gave it an engine oil change with one quart of conventual Lucas oil treatment and the vehicle went flying down the street like a bat out of Hell!! That was an amazing demonstration. I have an older small 2 stroke outboard that was in storage for at least 10 years. I cleaned the carburetor and changed the lower gear oil and checked the spark plug. I put fresh gas in it and took it out on the lake. It started ok but still ran a little fussy. I think this LUCAS treatment might be just what I need to give this engine a proper internal cleaning. I have used LUCAS injector cleaner and upper cylinder lubricant for many years now in my pickup truck and I swear by it. Thanks for this great video. Very well done.

It's pretty easy to show how an engine treatment works on a brand new mower/engine. But that's not a 10+ year old mower. Of course the engine treatment will work to remove the ash that's created by using a propane torch to burn the oil on the rocker arms... but that is not sludge buildup nor is it deposited onto the steel of the rocker arms. Your video lacks any modicum of science or real world testing.

Just a small bit of advice - I did a engine flush on what I thought was a relatively cleaner modern V-8 engine, without naming the engine flush, it required 4 consecutive oil changes to remove all the gunk with three literally clogged oil filters.. no problem just wanted to give a heads up before hand, if you are mechanically inclined - I would consider dropping the oil pan after your first run with the solvent and removing the valve covers and maybe doing a diesel fuel rinse through the oil galleys and clean the oil pick up screen. I probably could have avoided all those extra oil changes if I had of. just food for thought.

Hmmm...looks an awful lot like someone sprayed flex seal or some sort of bedliner material on the valve train. If I had to guess I would say the after pics are actually from before you sprayed crap all over it. The dead giveaway is the fact that there is "sludge" where the valve cover gasket makes contact with the head. There is no way sludge can build up where the gasket seats. If my suspicion was raised before it definitely is after you disclose that Lucas sponsored this video and has given you products for you reviews.

Used this in my engine today poured in a out 5 oz an ounce per quart of oil to my oil before I did my oil change. Poured in and poured the rest in my gas tank. I ended up driving around for 3 to 4 miles before I dropped the oil. Oil came out pretty dirty but upon adding new oil and driving around it drives just as smooth if not smoother now. I would say just follow directions and use on every oil change and I don't see anything bad coming of it. Would use again. It's worth the cost to maintain and keep a clean engine just stay on top of them oil changes and make sure you're not burning up oil you be alright.

My dad tells the story of the first car he bought. It was old and had 100k miles on it. He, being a young lad, thought he should clean the engine, “in case the previous owner hadn’t changed oil often enough.” Well, after following the directions to the letter, the results were: Gaskets started leaking, seals began leaking, and the clincher was the “chunks” liberated from where they were by the flush, clogged up critical oil passages. The engine died a miserable death.

The reason the oil system cleaners destroy engines is say this was a cars engine. There are tons of very small oil passageways. Oil cleaners brake the buildup apart and it flows through the system and can clog those passage ways staving parts of the engine of oil causing engine failure. I have a cadillac with the ht4100 it has very tiny oil passages to the crank and if those get clogged you are screwed. You are far better off using oil with additional es that clean as it runs over long periods of time. As long as you keep up on changing your oil it will clean those part.

Yeah. All the crap went right to the oil pan. Plugged up the filter on the pickup screen on the oil pump. And you have to pull the motor mounts to get the oil pan off and change the pump and tube. Been there done that. And transmission fluid does the same thing. Right before oil change, add a quart of transmission fluid. Run it for 3 minutes and let it set till the next day and change the oil and filter.

It is all the crud that ends up in your oil pan and clogs the front of the oil intake in the pan that causes many people to regret flushing their car engines. For those of you that need hard core stuff try BG. Their stuff can be hard to find and is not cheap though. Also..if you are going to flush with store bought stuff do your self a big favor and flush with new oil and new oil filter.

I've used liquimoly engine flush on my 2001 silverado seemed to get some dirt out but not much noticeable driving difference clean oil turned black within 5 minutes so it did get some dirt for sure.I may try lubegard engine flush next I prefer to use the flushes with more detergent oil type flushes not so much solvent thanks.

1 oz per gallon, that's the fuel mixture ratio but you were putting it in the oil, correct? Mixed with the oil it's one ounce per quart.

You burned the oil which cokes it and makes it much easier to dissolve then years of sludge build up... If you can make a Chrysler 2.7 v6 look like that then you’re doing something!!!!

I read in others comments that several people seem to think this is a bogus test. And yes it does look like a newer lawn mower. But it absolutely does not surprise me to see sludge in a mower engine. Many people buy mowers and run them till they die without ever even checking the oil or anything else. And then just throw them on the curb and go buy another new one.

I have used Seafoam and have had good results with it cleaning sludge from internal engine parts. And helping to remove varnish and carbon from the fuel system and combustion chambers. But have not tried using this cleaner from Lucas. But I have used many other Lucas products over the past 30 years and have always had very good results with their products. I especially like Lucas oil stabilizer, and Lucas heavy duty wheel bearing grease.

this product would be for (old neglected engines). back in the 60's when we got an old car all sluged up we would drain the oil and it would look like bunker C oil, we would then put a gallon of kerosene in the car and run it about 5/10 seconds then drain and add new oil. Worked for us and did not seem to hurt the engine but all we wanted was something to run up down the hollers in.,

Most modern day engine oils have the additives in now. Engine flush or cleaners strip all the fine particles from around your seals, seen so many owners spending more money because of oil leaks after flushing engines. Top fitters of manufacturers don’t recommend either. Leave your engine alone, change the oil regularly as your meant too. Simple as that.

It seemed to me that there was a pronounced idle problem after the Lucas. Don't think I will go for this.
