it's strange but bright LED light is kinda less informative for me (my brain kinda legs to "read" information about what's going on) compared to good halogen light. Even much less brighter halogen light. And when it's foggy halogen light is way better. Those blinding bright LED should be illegal, especially those automatically adjusted they turns off right after blinding me from a corner

Mobil 1 isn't full synthetic either regardless the Castrol is quieter in engines....Full Synthetic is Redline or Amsoil and Motul

Ya figure with all the tech, and upgrades made on cars today, why can't these ,SOB, do the same for gaskets, and O-rings, so these high priced new and used cars stop leaking around 100k. In my 52 years of driving these cars leak almost as bad as them cats from the '50's.

NEVER had a problem with any Fram filter. My go-to filter for over 50 years on all my cars. (Stop the Fram bashing.....)

It is a very complicated area of the law which varies greatly depending on which state you are in. It has conflict of laws issues about whether it is Workers Compensation or something else. Also, in states like California, the mandatory minimum liability car insurance laws play a major role in whether the registered owner is liable. In California, if you have the minimum insurance coverage, there is no excess liability over the amount covered by the minimum insurance. (It is currently only $15,000, but going up next year.) This assumes no wrongdoing on the behalf of the registered owner. (For example, if the registered owner gives the keys to someone he knows is unlicensed or he knows is drunk, then the registered owner liability can be unlimited.) Of course that his not the end of the analysis. In addition to the registered owner, the mechanic who put the care in gear is personally liable. The shop's insurance may also be on the hook. And the shop supervisor may have personal liability for negligent supervision, if there is something the supervisor should have done, but didn't. (Like make sure that everybody knows how to drive a stick shift? And that they all have a license?) Of course, the lawyer is always trying to find any insurance coverage so that the decedent's family gets some compensation. After all, the poor guy who got killed in a horrible accident died a miserable painful death through no fault of his own.

Perhaps you really used 7.8 oz instead of 8 in that lawnmower. I’m going to try it, but I’m just going to pour the whole bottle in since I don’t plan on saving any for a rainy day. It may cool 30 degrees is you are using water and no antifreeze. Otherwise, you may only get half (that’s 15 degrees for Northerners).

According to the Owner's Manual, my Honda motorcycle needs 10W30 oil, but the average temperature here is 32 C and maximum is 40 C. In this case, should I change to 10W40?

Ok.... What was the weight of the oil 10w30 5w30? Low viscosity stabilizer is for thinner oils like 0w20. i would'nt use in higher thicker oil that some engines use. Do not use the thicker original Lucas oil stabilizer in modern engines that require thin oil like 0w20 due to diluting and changing the viscosity to thicker and it may keep oil from reaching upper cylinders and lube VVT's.

That's not really an apples to apples comparison. The magnatec was basically a blend. A good blend. Now it's slightly different and called GTX FS. But the liqui moly is by every definition a full synthetic. I'd buy either one of them. Either one would be fine for most people.

Of those I'd probably pick the Liqui Moly. But I don't like M1's "fuel economy" line

if you have to rely on a bypass valve in the filter, then you're not changing your oil often enough. Your engine is probably already toast well before that thing opens if it ever opens

OMG! What does pouring two 10W-30 oil in a tube and letting it run out show you? Not a damn thing. Look at the KV 40 cSt in the oil PDS. This is the viscosity at 40*C. If one is 54 and the other is 58, the 54 will run out of the tube faster because its a tiny bit thinner.

Thats crazy, but as techs, we need to be able to say "hey boss, I'm not sure how to safely drive this or test this car." It took months on the job before I felt comfortable pulling manuals in & out. I even asked the more experienced guys what the procedure for lifting a manual was to not mess up the parking brake. Instinct is parking it in 1st, with the parking brake up. In the shop it should be in neutral on the lift, parking brake released, then brake pulled up as soon as its down again resting. I've been asked if I thought I was ready to test drive a manual, my answer has been no. It sucks because I often lose those tickets. So I plan to buy a cheap manual to daily for a while. But communication with your boss & everyone else in the shop is key. I've gotten non judgemental giggles about it, but they never hesitate to help me move something if I ask.

I as a mechanic learned in a scary way to never stand in front of a car that someone is starting.
