I'm on the emotional rollercoaster with you guys and I know how much loss hurts. I feel so sad when you think it's your fault because it's really not. You guys have been God send to these animals. Saving them EACH OF THEM and giving them such beautiful lives. They know how much they are loved!! and it's hard for you to feel like it's not ur fault when your left with no answers. So very sorry Omar and Tiph. You couldn’t have done more for the baby if you tried. You guys did everything you could. Lama’s seem to be pretty delicate animals and you guys took such good care of them. As a kid growing up in Australia. My mother was a wild life carer and we raised orphaned kangaroos and wallaby joeys from hairless babies. We lost a few and few grew up. It’s never easy to lose an animal as they are very much also a part of our families. Little Lacey knew she was loved and cared about. My heart is breaking for you guys. Sometimes it’s not what you do first, but what you do last for someone that is the part that really counts. Sending you all so much love from Australia. Please take time to heal from these losses and above be kind to yourselves. You’re honestly the best people I know. We love you guys. 💖

As a farmer’s daughter I know that animals may need help giving birth but, they also need space to take care of their babies afterwards. It was great seeing you step in to help when she wasn’t going through the maternal instinct process. But, sometimes the lack of care from the mother is a sign that the baby is sick and the mother knows it probably won’t survive despite the care she gives 😭 I saw it happen many times over many decades 😢 We lost our cat in March due to a ruptured stomach ulcer 😢It was midnight so we rushed him to an emergency veterinary hospital and they said they did all they could but, it was impossible especially since he was 14 years old too. It still costed over $500 including the cremation and our choice of box for the ashes. Best of luck with your animal emotional roller coaster 🙏❤️

Running a farm is SO hard! And often heartbreaking. When we had our farm, it stopped being enjoyable when we realized that it was encompassing our entire lives. We suffered so many animal losses that we could no longer handle it. Stay strong, and have faith in yourself. ❤️🇨🇦

Omar I grew up on the farm and we always brought our horses and cows into the stable with us when they were pregnant. When the babies came, we only ever cleaned them with hay and mom did the rest. the animals were always in the stable with straw or hay. for birth. and heat lamp in the stable.

I am so incredibly sorry, guys! I am right there with you on the losses.. since July last year, I lost my dog. My mom and 3 kittens, I also can not wait for 2024! You guys are doing everything you can! And like my vet told me.. you're doing way more than most people would/could to save our babies!! Even tho she only lived 2 or 3 days, she was loved! She felt love! You are not causing anything you're trying to fix it!! These animals were brought to you because they and you were meant for each other! This was tough to watch so I can only imagine how it was for you. You did everything you could, Omar. It's probably tough to see right now because you're grieving, but death is not the end, more like a beginning. The laws of physics says her energy and the ones you've lost are just in another form. Energy can't die. I know it's tough, I recently lost a cat and I miss him so much it hurts. I'm really sorry for your string of unfortunate events, but trust that God has got them and they are happy somewhere and not in pain. They wouldn't want you to be sad. Oh, Omar, I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my cockatiel the night that Lamar passed😢. I understand how you feel as I myself feel as though I failed my bird somehow as there was no visible injury on him. I also agree100%with you regarding vets. It's just a business for them. 7 years ago, I had a beautiful dog who got a paralysis tick on him. The closest vet that was near me and open basically said I needed at least $1100.00 in order for them to tend to him. I had to wait over 6 hours before a vet that would let me have a payment plan was open. I took him, but cause it took so long, the poison was already in his blood system. He died that night. Vets should have to attend animals regardless of getting paid then or later. That's my opinion. Cause if that first vet had seen him and let me pay off the cost, my baby boy would have survived, not die slowly like he did. I pray all goes well now and through the coming years at your ranch. So sorry you had to lose your babies so close to each other. You are all so sweet and caring and doing everything you can. I learned sadly this past summer to let nature takes it course when we had 2 newborn deer in our backyard and I tried to help. I was worried my dogs would bother them or interact before they would move. Sadly, their mom left them on a very hot day and unfortunately they didn’t make it 24 hrs. Here in PA we have tons of deer and daily have them in our backyard. But to see the poor fawns sitting in the hot sun abandoned (I thought) 😢really made me sad. I moved them with a towel over to my neighbor’s pond and they didn’t make it. We think they were sick and that’s why the mother never came back. I did call our fish and game and they told me to leave them alone. Lesson learned to let nature take it course. We as pet lovers want to help, but it’s hard to see any animal suffer. My heart goes out to you and your family. 🙏💔

I know this year has been so crappy emotionally for you guys. You probably know by now from other supporters that need to shake off that guilt. Remember the vet said that it could be something that started at the petting zoo. You guys have certainly done so much homework. Here in the Mid-west we get Oak Tree Mites. It has something to do with the Cicadas. The mites feast on the Cicadas eggs. But they over populate and the wind blows them from the trees. Not everyone is affected, but some people itch like crazy. They say they can last on people up to two weeks. I say raspberries to that mine went on for more than that. The Permethrin worked eventually. I tried other topical but the itch always came back causing little pimples.

She only knew love and care that you two gave her. Hugs, pets, food, warmth, everything a baby should know. If you train them with Dax and Gracie the parents will learn that you are the pack leader and they will teach the puppies to follow your commands. We've fostered many pregnant dogs and that has always been the case. You must assert your dominance and they will see you as the lead dog. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've been following with you and your losses this year! I just lost my dog at 12 years of age. Losing your friends and family is very hard. Sometimes I feel like screaming at God...WHY!!!! But all we can really do is our best. I think you've tried everything you could in your situation. I know that doesn't make things seem any better but we can't give up! I believe that's what the Devil wants. He wants us to feel defeated and 'beaten'. Your mission at Safe Haven Farms must be to offer a loving environment for the animals to grow in and share your lives. You've stepped into a world where you're dealing with nature. Your Dixie knew something was wrong. In nature the cycle of life is 'survival of the fittest'...Dixie knew her baby wasn't right. You stepped in and did everything humanly possible to care for her. In the end...nature ran it's course and Lacey wasn't strong enough to fight on her own. I was in tears watching. But you've got to mourn for Lacey and then keep on going. You've got lots of love to share but some things may not be fixable. God Bless you and Tiph for all you do. Keep up the good fight.
