Kendra, I feel that Colin is, as you said, taking helping her with charm lessons a "little too seriously" because he still feels badly about what she overheard him saying, last season. He knows he screwed up and he wants, very much, to make it up to her. On the other hand, as we know, it also betrays his deep-seeded feelings of affection (bordering on attraction) for her, feelings he is not yet ready to acknowledge. So, there are a couple things (at least) going on with him which drives his enthusiasm for helping Penelope, I think.

Welcome to this universe. You familiarized yourself with the content, and there is so much to learn, but I think you might miss crucial things by watching backwards. But I'm here for it. You interject without talking over the dialogue. Your videos are clear and your audio is good. I was also touched by your own backstory. I support you, I am an ally, and I want to see your romantic journey with Bridgertons Season 3! :) Also, I appreciate hearing your story and I relate a lot to it as well. It's not easy being a romantic. For one small indication of how much of a "lost cause" I have been in my life, check this out: when I was about 6 years old, I discovered my older siblings' Beatles albums. I totally got absorbed into their songs but one song in particular was the John Lennon composition called "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away". If you want to suffer sweetly, and hear a beautiful ode to his pining heart, please listen to that song! You will know what I am talking about and why I relate to what you are talking about.
