A mesmerizing revision of a song you could have written yourself--you own it now! Your singing stands out more than ever; great projection, phrasing and feeling. The sense of dramatizing a blues song permeates the performance with a rare understanding of what the title means (Muddy Waters once described this as a recognized phrase that deliberately ran against the emotional urgency of musicians singing I want this or I need that). The Stones may have updated this idea in the 60s. But hey, time to move over, MJ, this is the 2023 enhanced global reading with extra torque. It's been done by plenty of artists. I don't give a f$$k about their versions, this is the new definitive I Can't Get No Satisfaction. And the guitars mix is brilliant and right-on for this song.

Thanks, Margot, for this faithful and refreshing cover! Two questions to satisfy my curiosity: 1) In what order do you record the several instruments and the singing? 2) Do you use the Paul McCartney bass guitar because you read like me, he plays bass guitar on the next album of the Stones?

Most of the time it’s a rough guitar and rough vocals. Then I’ll record the drums and then rhythm guitar or bass, then percussions, solo guitar, keys, vocals. I play a hofner cause I like it ! It’s a shortscale bass so it’s easier to play for my guitarist hands !

I really love Margot and these videos never ceases o impress and amaze. I was missing the Tamborine and felt the vocals were slick but color by numbers. Expected to feel more passion on the second "I can't get no's" and in general. We've heard these songs for so long we often forget what they're about, not just what they sound like. No, it's not a "guy song." Technically great as usual, but would have loved more of an emotional investment. A woman's perspective. A deep pain from within. "I CAN'T GET NO!!!" Damn it! LET IT LOOSE! We've all felt this. Remind us. (Please for give my rare critiquing.)
