One of the things I always loved about the first 2 Silent Hill games is these parts where you are inside a restaurant or an RV and knows that in that little comfy place, you are protected (even if for just a short while) from all the hell is happening outside.

That little RV in Silent Hill 2 is unparalleled man- not only in how cramped and cozy it feels when you first find it, but that you also walk past it AGAIN like five hours later when things have gone so far south and it's still there being a safe little nook to hide in for a bit

@@GoldenGateNum9 Thanks for evoking these memories for me as well. I used to love going to school toilets while everyone was in class. It felt so safe. cozy and private. Nobody was close-by, it was quiet and silent. I would get a brief respite from class and all the noise, and it felt like time has stopped. Also i was into graffiti and tagging while i was in elementary school, so i would often do tags in bathrooms. At the time i played the game Mark Ecko's Getting Up, it's a quite melancholic game about graffiti, and it gives you the feeling of solitude and distance from the world.

I totally agree. It was very different. We were much better off without all the leftist politics, lgbt perversion, obsession with racism, antiAmerican chaos, excess dependence on electronic devices. It was much simpler, yet more advanced than the 80s and earlier 90s, which have an even extra special feel to them as well. I don’t think it was merely just a matter of less responsibility as some will say. The world was bad back then too, however it was waaaaaaaaaay better than now. This game changed my life. I was 15 y/o and for me, video games meant mario and kirby. When I first played RE I felt something new and fell in love with it.
