@Mrryn2 күн бұрын
11:09 I don't remember where, but I heard a theory that, because Sandy is a brilliant scientist, she actually did have Wormy's phase cycle mapped out. It was Spongebob and Patrick playing with him that bumped up his metamorphosis time due to stimulation. Or if you want to get extra anime, the power of friendship pushing Wormy to change into a butterfly so he can have an easier time playing with his new friends. Makes the fact that called him a monster, ran from him, and never would play with him again really sad with that context in mind 😢

Patty Hype is a very relevant episode in this day and age. Whatever the product, you don't have to reinvent the wheel, you just have to sell something that'll get people's attention and the popularity will follow. It might get laughed at, might even get called dumb, but there have been plenty of dumb ideas that have made millions.

My headcanon is that Mr Crabs changed the recipe to a MUCH cheaper "food" dye, and that's why nobody was upset at Spongebob

I like to think that Spongebob's color formula was mistakenly flawed from the start, and Mr. Krabs foolishly took the fall for him.
@beirirangu2 күн бұрын
@@jacoblucas7414 depends. We didn't see a timeline: it all MIGHT have happened in just 2 days, with Spongebob starting the buisness, getting enough customers to get on the news, and "trading" it to Mr. Crabs in a single day... but I always saw it as taking place over many days, therefore any problem on Spongebob's "color formula" would've been seen MUCH sooner... and it makes sense for Mr. Crabs to change the formula to something that he thinks could do the same thing for cheaper

@camerondodge20702 күн бұрын
Glasses. You know, I actually knew that the close up shots weren't of a butterfly when I saw this as a kid, mainly due to a book on butterflies, and a nightmare-inducing viewing of "The Fly" (1958) at a young age letting me know, at least vaguely, that that's what a fly head looks like. This episode still terrified me, and knowing it was actually a fly made it creepier for me, since I'm more likely to see those.

on the subject of people traveling for food, there is a town in washington called moses lake that has a food stand that occasionally sells what are called Space Burgers. I find it funny to think I'm apparently among a minority who thought the exaggerated closeup in Wormy was hilarious. It's clearly mocking how fear can make even the most harmless creatures seem dangerous. The fact that everyone's panicking and fleeing in terror from this harmless creature is so funny.
@Omegafire172 күн бұрын
As older kids, me and my sister weren't really bothered by it. Surprised the first time, maybe, but hardly fearful (then again, we grew up on frightful cartoons like Courage and such, and even those hardly gave us nightmares IIRC; perhaps we were just built different/had a certain tolerance already) If anything, we were too into the roleplay we liked to do with our favorite shows, translating Wormy's new buzzing as "Hi guys, what are we playing today?" and such, as if he didn't know what was wrong. Because it was just funny(er) that way :P
