@@justinlepard Damn that’s a long time, I’ve played for 6 years now and am still deciding if I want to try going pro after highschool. In a lot of your videos I see your weird hand positions where your aiming your hand down and I couldn’t even imagine trying to do it 😂

Haha well I will say if you can see yourself doing something else and being happy then definitely do that. Music is great but by the time you get to that top level everyone’s traumatized lol (to different levels but for real). Feels amazing to play though, and I love sharing all my hard work 💞

@@justinlepard I love watching your work man you’re amazing, I’m 16 and have been playing since I was 10 and music has always been my everything i dont know what I’d do without it. I even learned guitar over the summer and violin this year but recently I’ve discovered a new passion and that’s welding, I want to go to a school for it but a lot can change in 2 years so who knows where I’ll be, only time will tell.

Thanks brother. Well yeah never give up on music if you care about it. As a freelancer - and as a musician who has found great value in learning my own set of home auto and hardware skills - welding sounds like an incredible opportunity to learn something valuable as well. You’re super young (as far as these things go) so try as much as you can while failures aren’t so catastrophic, and fine tune later. Another option that you could explore that would blend the two would be apprenticing with a luthier. It can be hard to find the right shop that’ll give you a chance to learn probably, but most luthiers are people who used to or still casually play instruments, but found more comfort in the shop and more success with the making/repairing side of things.
