Always love and give your posts a thumbs up but, I think this the first one I've ever left a comment on. I was a paratrooper/ Rigger for 12 years in the US Army. I've jumped out of fixed wing and rotary aircraft from 750ft up to 15,000 Ft. I ain't going up a tree with a rope and nails on my feet. I'm surprised you tree climbers can get your pants on in the morning with size of your brass balls. LOL. I love all the knowledge, humility, positivity, faith and good will you bring and share with us. God Bless you Billy.

It's all about your training and familiarity. I was a volunteer industrial firefighter while working at an oil refinery, and we trained for those scenarios. The city fire department looked at what we did and thought we were crazy. We looked at what they did and thought they were crazy for entering a building that was on fire.

Fun to watch a crazy man climb a skinny dead tree. Back 60 some yrs ago when I was 15 to 19 my older brother and I got some climbing pics (we called them spikes) as army surplus from WWii. We cut down a popular that was easily 5 feet in diameter. And it was not dead. It was live as ever. And after that we climbed a lot of smaller trees. But I never climbed a skinny dead tree. I am amazed at what you do sometime Billy. Hats off to you. God Bless.

Hey Rob!!! Man Buckin, watching this one made me nervous haha, that sucker was rotten!!! Good job pal, looking after ones property very nicely❤much love from my family to yours

The first time I climbed with spikes about 15ft up my spikes started to sink all the way into the tree. Around 25ft I decided to stop climbing and came down. I fell the tree and the top landed within 6" on the rock that I marked as the felling zone. When I started to buck the tree the tree bark was falling down and was completely wet. The tree had a disease, and I made the correct decision to stop climbing and come back down. I find it amazing how you can make a big wedge cut and what is remaining will still holds the tree. I am a small-time tree guy. I took a professional class at the local college to learn how to climb and cut trees. I love this video because it shows exactly what we both see when we are both in the tree cutting. Thank you Buckin' Billy Ray.+

I have never climbed a tree or would I but I find this video very interesting because of your problem solving ability and critical thinking skills. You’re always assessing and reassessing your environment. There’s great life skills here to learn. You deserve an honorary degree in tree work and life experiences.

I got introduced to tree climbing right here on the channel, climbing with Buckin'. There's this charm to old school climbing, I feel. Being so close to the tree, and depending mainly on your skills and your experience. And probably more adrenaline involved, I'm guessing? 😁 This was really interesting and kinda scary, and I loved every minute of it. Good stuff, Buckin' 👍🏻😊🌲🌳❤

Im going to begin climbing soon and need a saw. How do you find the 201? Is it too heavy? Its a lot more money than the next size down but i dont wanna wish for more
@thesickhorseranch4 ай бұрын
Take a look at the Echos. I wanted as much saw as I could get so i chose the 3511, or whatever it was called. Now I wish I would have grabbed a 2511, I know it would have had plenty of power and the 35cc saw is a chunky boy after a day of one-handin' it.
@WARLOK8134 ай бұрын
@@thesickhorseranch the only problem i have with echo around here is lack of dealer support, id love to try one but stihl really runs the show around here. I wonder how the 194 stihl stacks up? Its around half the price of the 201
@thesickhorseranch4 ай бұрын
@@WARLOK813 I hear ya. Hard to beat Stihl or Husqvarna in the support department but these echos are pretty reliable and any saw shop should be able to help you maintain it. Just a cheaper option, can't go wrong with the Stihl or Husqvarna though.
