I CANT BELIEVE THESE PRICES IN THE GROCERY STORE!!!!! MASSY GROCERY SHOPPING IN BARBADOS!!!!

In this video i will be taking you to the local international grocery store where you can get almost EVERYTHING you are looking for as a foreigner. This grocery store is called Massy. Everyone kept telling me to send myself a barrel before i got here and i totally see why. I do understand that alot of things are imported on the island and thats what makes it more expensive. I'm quickly learning to shop like the locals. Going forward, I will make sure i understand Bajan brands of food and products to makes sure its not as expensive.

My family is from Barbados. I was born in the states but would often visit my aunt there before she passed. Every time I would go there I would take her clothes and other essentials because the cost of living in Barbados is like almost double US prices. I’ll never forget I was entertaining some friends and just wanted to make a pan of lasagna. I winded up spending around $65-70 for just basic ingredients and couldn’t believe it. Barbados is beautiful but way to expensive

All Massy stores are laid out that way. Here in Trinidad, we also have many Massy stores. It is expensive, it's what we call the top of the line grocery store. Other smaller chains of grocery stores sell the same items like Massy stores, and their prices are a bit cheaper. Massy is priced that way for shopper convenience. Vegan items are expensive across the board here in the Caribbean. It's a new niche market with few options. That's why, as a vegan, I make my own items. I am a no process item kinda vegan. If you can shop abroad and send a barrel to Barbados, you will save alot of money. Most foreigners here in Trinidad do that as well as Trini's who have families abroad in the US who send them a barrel monthly or when needed.

As long as you have a high powered blender you can make your own Ice cream Que....and if you vegan you definitely wann make it caue daily definitely. Coconut Aminos is a vegan subsitute foe Soy sauce FYI. Should have the ideal soil to grow lettuce, starbwrries and garlic etc.

Cue you can mix the meatballs down and add more flour to bind them so they won't fall apart when you cook them

Girl when you are packing a barrel the food items should be at the top of the barrel the cat should be at the bottom and the detergent in the middle of the barrel the bottles should be taped up also the pancake taken out of the box and put in a Ziploc bag i pack barrel all the time and send to Jamaica the pasta spoil because you put in the bottom, cue they throw the barrels around if you had pack it the right way they would not search it

I have lived in 25 different countries around the world just for the experience and I know the joys and the struggles especially being American... At one point I was dating a Nigerian I had to live in countries he could stay in so I have stayed in Bermuda before but let me tell you Que yall will enjoy living in Colombia and Kenya better then Bermuda they not visa free like Bermuda is for him but it's easy to get.... While I was living in Bermuda I decided to make cheese cause I was irritated at how expensive is was for that little amount so I made my own cheddar cheese and Mozzarella it's easy you should try it!!!
