These types of videos have made me appreciate every body of water I see. You never know where a monster can be. I caught a 52 lb. grass carp out of an abandoned golf course pond in North Carolina! I’ll always be a bass fisherman but I love these videos keep it up

Those bodies of water that are man made yet abandoned can have some monsters in it. I don’t partake in golfing but my buddies have rods in their bags due to golf courses having massive carps in their bodies of water

What a monster. How long has that fish been watching Houston go by? She's probably at least 40 years old...so she watched Hurricane Alicia come through and wash out her bayou or creek she was born in back in the 80's. She avoided all the arrows, the gnarly construction projects, the dredging, droughts and floods, and the trophy hunters...just to swim by and eat that carp. Pretty cool when you think about it.

Accidentally had one snap at a humpy that I was fishing. The rise was only about 10 yards from me and I thought that I was onto the largest trout of my life! Once I saw him (I was wading in a shallow river), I was both shocked and more than a little concerned. half an hour later I got him close enough to estimate him at about 20 lbs. He had wrapped around the leader at the snout and luckily another angler waded over and helped me untangle him and let him go.

Your fishing adventures which I now have the pleasure to enjoy remind me of me as kid fishing canals in Miami Florida thank you. As for reference we would set up gear at night from a train track that crosses over a canal in the night and camp out waiting to hear the plash from big fish- alligator gar, catfish, mudfish and some time gators would hit our lines- so much fun and excitement in the dark to find out what we caught. Not recommended these day to hang out near train tracks but that was 70's and 80's. Always catch and release. Great Tube, congratulations!

@Ivegotwormsinme2 жыл бұрын
Down here in the southern most point of Louisiana, they definitely fish them for food. The Vietnamese will pay you for 'em, too. They'll put signs up saying "Will buy Gar Fish" with their phones numbers, so it's actually kind of lucrative. People will use treble hooks the size of your fist and tie it to half a dozen 2 liter Coke bottles with a chicken leg quarter as bait. So if you ever see a bundle of 2 liter bottles floating around, it's a good possibility there's that dinosaur you speak of hooked to them.

@Ivegotwormsinme Жыл бұрын
@@luckylollermodmaster6283 I don't believe it is, my friend. It's cruel when you really consider the situation. I fish off of docks, and when I catch a gar, that mother goes right back into the water because I don't want anything to do with them. They're fun to fight and catch, but they're not food to me. But I only use new, sharp hooks that don't cause massive damage to fish in general, and definitely wouldn't damage a gar in the slightest.

I'm honestly not sure how often they need to eat in this colder weather. Gar do tend to have a much slower metabolism than people generally think (anti-gar propaganda from the early 20th century made people believe they eat multiple times their bod weight in game fish and lots of people still believe that despite it being completely false).
