Would be nice to see a bit more analysis afterwards. Nothing in depth, but just a few mins of looking at the critical moments would be appreicated

I love hearing your thought process as you play these slower rapid games. I’ve learned a lot from listening to the way you think through moves. I’ve also learned to think more abstractly and search for ideas as opposed to only looking for tactics in my games

The fact that Jerry got a win and a draw out of 5 games is insane. Leela would completely destroy the rest of us

As a d-pawn queen's gambit player, one thing I took away was the unprovoked retreating move at 3:19, preparing to neutralize the bishop pair. Seems obvious in the video but I believe this plan to be master-level positional chess.

It's super common in the Caro-Kann too.

@michaelf8221 Nice. I like the idea of the Caro but it appears to lose tempo (or space) compared to a direct 2.c5 as black, so never studied. Good to know. The QG as black is already a tempo down, so I wondered if the Caro is actually a 2 tempi loss. There was one line I played that it felt forced, but now can't remember the exact move order. Will see. Curious how it might effect the piece-play.

@michaelf8221 P.s. one thing iVe learned is that Leela knows your candidate moves before you do. The mid-late game was brutal af

I wonder at what point(s) Leila Knight-Odds decides it’s time to pare the enemy down with even exchanges until he’s left with the unwinnable situation of a single minor piece up? Thanks Jerry.

@@ChessNetwork they should make the bots spend some time when they are on move. the fact that they reply instantly is the most unnatural thing when playing with bots. It should not be very difficoult to program either.

@@michelepisarra9263That’s been my thought too. No increment for droids! They already got Move.
@arch1q8927 сағат бұрын
What the point doing that? Just waste of time instead of 2 s you wait 30for a move you can never win on time either way
@TheMarkODonohue15 сағат бұрын
After 42. Ra4 was e5 a move? Pitch the e-pawn to split Leelas c/d-pawns and allow your awkward f6 rook to swing to c6 to defend the pawn. I feel a passed e-pawn for Leela would be easily controlled by your bishop if it could re-route to f6, which also incidentally pressures Leelas weak c3 pawn.
@ChessNetwork11 сағат бұрын
Hmm. Interesting idea…it never crossed my mind. I think I too quickly concluded the c-pawn was gone without any disruption.

I realized something watching and playing Leela. Playing down a Knight isn’t a big deal if you know specifically how to do it. If you pair Leela with Knight odds against Stockfish even Stockfish takes a while to beat Leela. It’s far from easy. The issue is most people don’t know how to play optimally at disadvantage because we only ever learn to play equal positions. We just assume we’re hopelessly lost when down material and don’t think it’s possible to catch up. Instead of resigning when I’m down a Knight maybe I’ll just play on and try to get better at it. I probably won’t win very many games but who knows, if Leela can do it, maybe I can win a few as well.

@Kxngkarma179 сағат бұрын
@@ChessNetwork I see. I asked cuz I watched a video about it recently and when I tried the opening, I won two games with it. It's something like an odds game where you sacrifice the rook for a bishop and continue from there.
