Hey man, you are blessed. Kitesurfing for a year is a dream I have. I'm a beginner and watching your progress increases my motivation to go back to kite. Already can kite by myself, but want to start doing jumps and tricks. I know everything's possible with hard work. Keep rocking!

Thanks a lot man! I got so addicted and somehow it felt like the most important thing to do. I planned for this for 3 years in advance.. without proper financing this would be impossible! I worked remotely prioritising time in the water. Keep putting effort buddy! It's important to compare only with yourself and who you were a month ago. Set some reasonable and crazy goals as well ;) Most importantly it has to be fun and make you happy. This freaking sport is so amazing and addictive 😍😍😍

Great Video!!! Loved seeing the progression. I live in a similar place where our winds are strong and gusty (anything under 7knot gust is a really pleasant session), and the water is usually choppy, or waves. Makes it difficult to try new things. I should take a year off too! :D

Thank you for you comments buddy! I think that everyone should try to break out from the routine and take a long time off. I wanted to enjoy the time with my daughter before the school obligations so we combined kitesurfing and family time all together. It wasn’t easy.. took 3 years of planning and sorting out the finances but looking back… it was the best decision ever! Keep shredding buddy!

Kiteloop boardoff is my goal tricks. Cracked the lateback last year, it's now my favorite trick! How did you learn the kl boardoff? I'm 100% on boardoff by the fin, but can't reach the handle. I think it's harder by the fin ?
@JustGoKitesurfing8 ай бұрын
The trick is to raise your board to your hands to be reachable! Kiteloop board off by the fin it’s Much Harder!! For kiteloop board off: Step 1 - do board offs with the front hand Step 2 - kiteloops with one hand, especially the landing Step 3 - kiteloop board off and then controlled crash.. that’s how I approached it. Sorry for the delay in the response. I missed the comment!

I am trying to build up confidence for the late back and this video was super inspiring! Very little instructional detail is available online for the lateback so it was great to hear from someone who is just getting into it! I will definitely give it a shot and try lifting that front leg! Any other main tips/suggestions?
@JustGoKitesurfing Жыл бұрын
Hey Ruben! Sure :) Go out with a kite no larger than 9m and no more than 25 knots. The first time I landed the trick was by jumping 3-4 meters. It's enough to get some confidence. Then while you go higher no matter what happens force yourself for the second half of the rotation. The first half is easy but the second one you might have to force it! Don't freeze with your back at the water as it's painful for the neck if you crash like that.. speaking from experience 😥 🤣🤣🤣 I found Mike's video very helpful -> kzbin.info/www/bejne/opfIfJWKp9-ea6ssi=YZFz-S4-gW-G1TeK

@@rubensbrazilianbrothers Thanks buddy! Really appreciate it! Next one will be Cape Town in a few days. So looking forward to it 🚀🚀 but… trying a late backroll there makes me sweat 😅
@samuel_heinz2649 Жыл бұрын
All about letting that kite go up to 12 BEFORE you initiate the rotation. When I was learning, every freaking time I would understeer the kite and eat shit when I tried rotating early. So the second you see that kite coming back up to 12, huck that rotation, full force everything you got. It's all about commitment at that point. If you make the full rotation, even if you don't land it you have the confidence that you can rotate through it and you'll stick the next one or the one after that.
@JustGoKitesurfing Жыл бұрын
@@samuel_heinz2649 couldn’t agree more buddy! Also I believe that being able to land a kiteloop by parking the kite on both 11 or 13 o’clock after the kiteloop is essential so that you land the late backroll no matter where you see your kite parked after the rotation.. left or right you have to make it work ;)

Why did you change the Fusion over the Shotgun/Falcon? Which one do you like the most? (Size/kg?)
@JustGoKitesurfing Жыл бұрын
Hey hey! I am 178 and 74kg. Loved the Fusion but after many sessions on it the Union pro bindings damaged my little toe. Their binding is flawed with the plastic part is coming in contact with the toe and slowly irritates it. I wouldn't use it again unless they change the bindings. Also you don’t have much choice on the bindings. Core goes with core almost exclusively.. they have a special connection on the board. 😅 The Shotgun is by far my favourite board and I just got the Falcon which I find incredibly light!!. 3kg vs 3.6 for the shotgun. I think I will stick to the Falcon but happy to share with you feedback in a couple of days. I will be in Cape Town and will take both with me.. I need a couple more sessions on the Falcon before jumping into any conclusions towards what's better for me 😉

@@JustGoKitesurfing nice. I had the same experience with the bindings. Will be first time in capetown in january for 3 weeks :)

@@howie2365 i heard that I was not the only one. Sad cause the feeling of the bindings is super good. I really liked them… I will be in Cape Town until 9th Jan ;) Let’s share a session 🤟

How are your kites after that period ?
@JustGoKitesurfing Жыл бұрын
In actually sold them all in great condition. The 9m was the most used but even on that one the canopy still had some crispiness left in it 😂 I take very good care of my gear to be honest. Rinsing when super sandy, drying when wet and never leave it exposed in the sun if I don’t kite..

Dude you almost did more kitesurf sessions this year than I did days of work. Makes me wonder, what the fuck am I doing wrong 🤣 Good choices man, inspiring 👊 Nafpaktos was good al year ?
@JustGoKitesurfing11 ай бұрын
Hahaha :) That's a good one buddy! Yes, indeed, that was the whole purpose. Nafpaktos was very good all year long with the worst months being Dec, Jan, Feb and March. Then the wind really starts to be more consistent in the area and is very reliable from April until November. There was always some wind to kite even in the worst months. Spots like Drepano or other nearby spots would always give you some wind to kite ;)

You should go to Akyaka, Turkey in the months of June July and maybe August... Every year in August there is a massive storm towards the end of August. The wind is around 20+ knots consistently every day@@JustGoKitesurfing
