She is so right when she says the west is harder on the soul. As Africans we are taught to yearn for all that the West has to offer and to oftentimes look down on our own ways of being. My 2 cents is that the west places so much value on money - which is important - but is not everything. So people feel invisible without it. And there's also that fact that as an African you are very likely to be othered. Btw she looks soo good for 50. Black don't crack❤ Thanks Mpoomy for yet another beautiful interview

I loved this episode. I resonate so much with Ekene's story. I moved to the US from Botswana, and I felt so out of place surrounded by the culture and people here. It gave me so much self doubt, and imposter syndrome. I felt like I had wasted my years when I was in Botswana. But time came when God had to remind me all He was doing in me before coming here. I am living in prayers that I made when I was in Botswana but only received them when I came here. I am not American and I really don't desire to be🤣, but It's so easy to get consumed by the grind, getting a good job, education and building yourself a future that you forget who you were called to be in the process. This is so sweet and pure, I love this episode!

This is amazing. I heard a German girl that lives in Nigeria say the same thing. She said people in her country tend to forget who they are and don't explore their creative side because there is so much pressure to perform and do the normal school and work thing. So she felt living in Nigeria I think with her parents would be the best option.

Thank you for this amazing talk, I’m so greatful to God for my mother who constantly reminded me to be a full rounded woman embracing all my aspects. This woman is wise and it’s so affirming to hear . It’s amazing how woman are healing and stepping into their femininity without shame and realising that its the way to go indeed and to know that you gotta stop picking apart bits of you and that as a whole woman you can be powerful if you lean into your femininity. ❤stay blessed and really be woman❤ and love all of you

Femininity is not performative. You need to know that you are enough. Tell the full story of your life, dont be so focused on being inspirational,im more interested in being aspirational. Ma'am Ekene dropped some gems. I just know im coming back to listen again. And can we talk about how she doesn't look like she's about to be 50?❤
