same here I put the video on pause go clean something then come back and watch more. And buying new cleaning supplies like the Magic Eraser and I've had built up crud in a metal thingy that seperates the hall to the bathroom went out and while I was looking for that scraper thing he uses picked up these wire toothbrush looking things I think maybe they are for cleaning a grill put a dallop of Ajax and water and brushed in the grooves and I got it all off after trying everything to get that gunk out of the grooves. Now if I could only figure out how to get mildew out of the shower where they put the sealer (caulk stuff). I have tried everything they told us to never put bleach on it or it would mess up the finish on the shower stall ( we had a walk in shower built and it was supposed to be mildew/mold free 1 year later and yeah they lied. Tip from Aurikatariina: for burned-on stuff in ovens, or on stoves or pans, apply oven cleaner, cover the surface with plastic wrap so it stays put and doesn't dry out, and let it sit for a minimum of 2 hours. Works like a charm!

I once cleaned a house family of 5 the house was just filthy it took me a month working there every day, when I got done I even did a lot of yard work mostly picking up trash, after I got done it was so nice one month later I went to visit and it was filthy again, there are people who just are lazy to the bone.
@earlyjicama43022 жыл бұрын
"laziness" is almost always just undiagnosed medical, mental health or neurodevelopmental conditions. I have a friend who's parents were hoarders and who's house was filthy. I did exactly what you did and cleaned their house once and I know their church had done it for them several times as well. It always went back to filthy. Turns out she had undiagnosed ADHD, she also had depression which had been diagnosed for years but it was the ADHD that was really affecting her ability to get any kind of cleaning/organising routines going. Within a week or two of starting medication she was doing significantly better than she had ever done with the housework. It was still a bit disorganised but it was clean and sanitary and the laundry and dishes were done. Nobody wants to live like this, there is always something getting in the way of them doing what they need to do. Sometimes with things like depression someone coming in and cleaning like this is all it takes to help a person feel like they can maintain it because the task of getting it back to standard from this state can be too overwhelming. With other conditions like genuine hoarding (which is a form of obsessive compulsive disorder), and other medical conditions a person is definitely going to need treatment and possibly ongoing practical support to keep their space liveable. It's a shame there isn't more home support available in these cases. I'm a mental health nurse and where I live we have funding available for home helpers to come in and clean/organize/ cook with people who have mental health conditions, even if they are physically able.

Hi Sherryl, I wish I could swing by and help out, I don’t doubt it’s very frustrating to rapidly become unable to do the things you once did with ease. In my part of the US, we WANT that baked-on brown because then we know the pan is “seasoned”. And we never clean it with soap and water, just a paper towel. The first thing a bride does is try to get that seasoning on her new pans (especially bread pans!), to show she isn’t a novice cook. And when a woman dies, her seasoned pans are usually snapped up at auction if not given to a family member first.

Goodness, I wish that either you were coming to Kansas, or that I had someone with your compassion and willingness to help someone here in Topeka that did this. I have done this for many people over the years. I found it to be very gratifying and rewarding . Sometimes a situation gets so overwhelming, and we know it’s bad, but there’s so much to do we don’t know where to start and so we do nothing. I have found myself in that exact situation recently. Unfortunately I’m going to turn 45 on Monday and I’m waiting on a hip replacement and I have been disease or some thing going on in my leg again so I have three huge wounds that won’t heal. They just keep getting bigger. Not sure what I’m gonna do and my daughter is away at her Boot Camp and military training and my boyfriend moved out so now I have all of my daughters animals that I’m responsible for. I can’t walk without every step being excruciating and sometimes I can’t walk at all and then I have these nasty oozing sores on my legs and I’m very overwhelmed and I need help. I don’t lift my feet up very high when I walk anymore and there’s stuff everywhere in my house and I trip over something almost every day and almost every day I fall and it’s hard I can’t put my socks on just really struggling and I saw your videos and I’ve been watching them for about. I don’t know eight straight hours now anyway. you don’t happen to have a brother or cousin, or something that lives in the middle of nowhere Kansas do you lol. you’re an amazing human. Keep up the good work, and if you are ever in Kansas, you should message me I’d like to meet you. Thank you for doing this for people. None of us mean to get Ther out of hand or nasty or both. Because of chronic pain, i get depressed and fall behind too. When i feel well enough to catch up on dishes, i fill the sink with HOT soapy water and let everything soak for a good hour or more, depending. Not well enough for the rest of the house? A quick tiddy-up will help, most can wait. But i never let the bathrooms "go". As far as the range top goes, its easier to clean if your don't use it when dirty. I use Bon Ami, which doesnt scratch and a razor blade for burnt on stuff.
