The ability to push reinforced deepslate with pistons was only a thing in snapshots. It is not pushable with pistons now. I guess he could downgrade his world to the snapshot and push them, but idk if he's the kinda guy to do stuff like that.

Ironically enough, the first stronghold you found would have been perfect for your museum. The fact that an end portal and an ancient city were right next to each other would mean that you could have had both immovable blocks (the reinforced deepslapte and the end portal) in the same museum. It also would have saved you the trouble of mining an entire ancient city :p
