The front end looks substantially better than the previous Ranger and the fact you can fit 4'x8' sheets between the wheel wells is a game changer.
@shitloveaduck6 ай бұрын
I agree on the ability to haul 4x8 sheets of plywood etc!! The looks?? I prefer the previous Ranger. The new one looks boring, especially when compared to the GM twins and the new Tacoma. That being said, I’m a Ford fan and will wait fully until I see one in person later next week, when I’m back in town. They apparently have one coming in for test driving. The pricing puts Ford as the most expensive midsized truck out there, just slight over Toyota pricing,,,. That’s a problem. Ford’s pricing of Kate is excessive compared to the competitors. Ram is worse, but not by much. Fortunately, here, there are rebates up to $14,500 CAD on the existing 2023s and I have seen as much as $4,000 on the new 2024. Dealerships are hungry for sales & competition is heating up to the point that they can no longer demand the stratospheric prices the place as MSRP! Whew! The discounts by the most aggressive dealers put the trucks back into perspective. Demand is still very high on the midsize trucks unfortunately. I’ll wait a couple years to see where things settle.

Being able to haul a full sheet of plywood got my attention, but still won’t consider buying one till they lengthen the bed to at least 6’, prefer it at 6.5’. The only thing Andre didn’t show with the lariat is the payload on that truck, the XL had a great payload for its size

What is the new hang up on “steelies”?? I lived through them when it was extremely rare you could get alloys. The steel wheels rust, chip, look like crap, even powder coated ones. They are potentially beneficial off-road, but when you are going extreme, otherwise the alloys are stronger, mor brittle, but overall stronger. Steel wheels bend under heavy loads off-road (I know, I replaced my fair share & my tire shop watched the evolution of the different wheels used over the last 42 years), but will generally get you home. If an alloy wheel fails you need to replace it, I get that, but the failure rate of alloy wheels is very low. There have been a lot that have failed, more on cars, due to drifting and road stupidity, but steel wheel soul survive that same abuse either. I have heard that you can hammer a steel wheel back into shape to re-inflate it. We have tried (successfully) in the shop, but that’s nowhere as easy as a person thinks. The wheel was clean & we had special tools to get the tire to seal on the beads. Anything is possible & people have re-aired tires off-road, more often than not, though, an attempt to re-air the tires off-road fails. Often, it’s likely the alloy wheel may have survived the damage the steel wheel folded under! The basic land steel wheels TFL has decided they like are terrible cheap wheels that work well for winter tires. Maybe at least look at styled steel wheels like the white spoke alloys on the Discovery that simulate steel. They created an alloy to “simulate “ steel!! Think about that! 😂😂.

Need some advice. I promised my son if he graduates from high school and goes into the trades instead of university I would buy him a truck (new). Should it be a pickup or SUV. He likes fishing so need a way for it to accommodate rods and tackle. I imagine he will want a fishing boat someday so towing needs to be at least 5000 pounds. The purchase year would be 2026. My budget would be $50,000 out-the-door.

The 2019-2023, I never saw powered seats even in the Lariat models. This is a game-changer for Ford on the Rangers.

It just seems Ford is trying to put lipstick on an old design. I may be wrong but, I think the mid size trucks would have 1/3 additional sales if a long bed was available. I find a 6’-6.5’ bed really is more flexible. I carry a lot of lumber in the 9’ and 12’ length. It’s nice to not have more than 4’ sticking out past the open tailgate. I think I’m biased towards longer beds for looks also 😊

Andre awesome work! Please let Ford know I will finally trade in my 2004 Ranger when they finally offer an STX crew cab with 2.7 and six foot bed. love 48 inches between wheel wells and payload!

Here's what Ford need to offer on their lariat trim, Heads up Display and Ventilated seats. With most other mid-size trucks their offered as add-ons and hard to believe Ford didn't do the same.

Could you guys do a segment on the vehicle telematics control unit and its function? I find this very annoying that Ford or other OEM can send data from my truck, sell it and it ends up at my insurance company with a premium increase!

50K for a midsized anything is a big ask...these prices today at nuts.

I have an xlt 4x4 for 43k on order, but I am looking at an f150 xlt powerboost for 55k tomorrow. The prices are definitely pretty high for a mid size, granted the f150 is about 10% off msrp.

The same trucks on the official Ford Canadian website are 10 000$ more for Canadians

That’s because our currency is worthless thanks to our federal government printing money to cover its overspending.

That STX is very similar to the 2019 that I had and it was $40k. The inner screen being larger is awesome though.

I would definitely go with the STX. Always looking for the best bang for my buck. But, ford should always put a break controller into their trucks, cause you need it anyway.

I just priced out a ‘24 Ranger 4x4 STX with locking diff; it was $38,330 here in NWPA. Not bad, but a bit more than $35K.

Ford needs to bring back the manual transmission in the Ford Ranger and often all trims they got it in the Ford bronco so they need to put it in there
@spyder0000696 ай бұрын
Looks like there is no spot to hang a dash cam behind the rearview mirror. Totally covered by some trim piece. So cam is going to have to mount low blocking view.
