I Completed Every RDR2 Challenge as Arthur

Canonically, I feel that the bandit challenges should be completed as Arthur as soon as possible. Since it lowers your honor so much, you have time to “redeem” yourself in the later chapters of the game.

@@leotheskyguy it’s grindy, but go catch all the fish and release them. Greet everyone you can nicely. You’re past the point of doing a lot of side missions and stranger missions (unless you saved them for John) with good honor. I believe that’s also affected by a checkpoint in the story. Once you are diagnosed with TB as Arthur, your honor gain/loss is higher than it was previously.

Just a pro-tip for anyone else who wants to try this, you should do the Hosea hunting mission early on so you can hunt the legendary buck and get a trinket that improves pelt quality.

The trinket doesn't work the way we thought it does. The trinket only improves your chance of not messing up your pelt when you kill the animal, it doesn't affect the spawn rate of 3 star pelts. But I still agree about getting it early.

Pro tip: You can do herbalist 9 very easily while doing "Who is Not without Sin" misson. in that mission you have to take drunk Reverend Swanson to camp. instead of going to camp you can keep him in horseback and go anywhere in new Austin and the sniper won't shoot. if you already done this mission, you can replay it and complete herbalist 9

Tip for anyone wanting to do the challenges requiring going to Lower West Elizabeth: if you have a hogtied bounty on the back of your horse, the wanted level won't trigger and you can roam freely. You'll still be sniped by God if you try to cross to Thieves Landing, but you can explore the area (minus Blackwater because of the Wanted area) with no issues.

A trick I use when hunting predators such as the big cats, is to climb upon a boulder after setting out bait. Bears, wolves, gators, cats, all predators can't reach you if you're up on a boulder. So you can take your sweet time doing whatever you want while on that boulder since they can't reach you.

I just did Horseman 9 and 10 two days ago. Luckily you don’t have to go all the way to Blackwater for 9, and all the tame-able horses can be found in the early side of the map. The Hungarian Halfbreed is rare, but it spawns right outside the camp in that big open field with Tennessee Walkers and a Morgan. I spent way too long trying to get to one in Blackwater only to continually get slaughtered by Pinkertons. Although I did manage to get a Tennessee Walker over there by the skin of my teeth.

I shall offer the following advice for the Herbalist challenges before the Exotics side-missions. Do not pick any orchids before Herbalist 9. If you pick too many of any given type of orchid, the game will despawn that type to leave you at least one to collect during the Exotics missions. The Acuna Star orchid is particularly bad for this, because if you pick just two, the rest with vanish until the Exotic mission that will require you to pick the third and final Acuna Star. And you cannot discard or sell any orchids in your inventory in order to get out of such a situation. So to be completely safe, don't pick any orchids until you're doing Herbalist 9. Happy herbalising people.

i remember a year ago, i had done like ten or more complete playthroughs of the story and side missions, but never got 100% completion, so i made a vow to get as close to 100% as i could as arthur. I got to 78.5%, and i had all the challenges done, all the collectibles done (except for the New Austin bone locations, the glitch i used to get in new austin for the herbalist challenges wasnt reliable enough to get the bone locations), and pretty much all of the other stuff done aside from the arthur grave location and the rest of the main story missions. then, as john i did the rest of the bone locations, did all the new austin random encounters (not necessary for completion but i did it anyway) and made sure the last thing i did was inspect arthur’s grave, so the transition between the 100% scene was seamless. anyways long story short yeah a few of those challenges are really difficult to do as arthur lol.

So as someone who did Van Horn to Blackwater with Arthur without that trick (you need to cross the dam to the west, kill the first wave of pinkertons with deadeye and gun it before the second one spawns), I am incredibly mad that apparently, my 15+ attempts were almost entirely pointless. Oh and that long scoped rifle challenge was a nightmare-because I did it for the first time on the PS4 and in most situations, enemies don't spawn in that far away on the PS4.

When I did herbalist there was a trick with the camera where you can get cover from the sniper, but it has to be the wagon that has the back covered by the white cloth, I remember I would steal it from strawberry, while keeping cops on me for the wabted lever, and afterwards just roam freely. You just have to set your camera to highest distance in 3rd person, and disable it from centering itself.

Mounted enemies can be found on bounty missions early on. I’ll also leave one alive on the first st Denis bounty for dragging him with lasso when they try to steal your bounty. Don’t take him into town tho just drag him around the swamp and you won’t get a bounty. The predators from horseback and varmint kills challenges at the same time when you see a flock of crows in several spots on the map. There are two different spots for the final treasure map and most of the time can be found between 9-12 in the morning. Just ride back and forth between the two spots til he spawns or sleep/reload. Gambler blackjack challenges there are a specific seat at the table if you watch the dealer will deal specifically to one spot. Most of the time it’s the 1st(left of the dealer), 3rd, or last. Start or end gambler challenges in van horn as sometimes you can knockout 2 challenges there. Also rob 5 people in van horn to avoid bounties on the north end of town there’s two men that spawn one in the alley and one leaning against the barn. Ride to the stable to respawn, save, repeat. If any of that helps.

The sad thing about herbalist 9 is, if you're playing on the original patch when the game came out - the invisible sniper didn't work right. It was so much easier to everything as Arthur and explore around. I don't remember it working right until the very first time they put out a patch for the game. And even then there was a stagecoach bug in Armadillo (if you managed to get into the city there was a wall by the stagecoach guy). By the clicking the stagecoach behind the wall, it would disable the sniper most of the time. Even if it didn't - they hadn't messed with the spawns in New Austin yet, so you would just respawn in the Armadillo lol. Super fun though, you just had to watch out for roaming sheriffs (big red dots on the map) once you got past Blackwater.

Btw you can make into blackwater as Arthur by getting a bounty and putting the bounty on your horse then you will be able to visit blackwater but if you get to close, they will notice you and shoot

I read in the wiki that there’s a glitch you can do to get the lote outfit without having to do survivalist 9. Complete every challenge except for s9 and gambler 10 and use the swanson mission to complete gambler 10 which should deposit the outfit in your inventory. I’m currently attempting to do it but was wondering if anyone else has done this successfully? (Edit) Sorry I wrote survivalist instead of herbalist but my question still stands

You can actually rob the same train 5 times for the challenge. I hopped on a train that stopped in Emerald Ranch, stole an apple that was sitting on a barrel, then fled on horse as the guards noticed me outside of the boundary of emerald ranch. I then realized the train was staying put due to the commotion, and tested to see if I could do the same thing again, and sure enough it worked. All you have to do is take one little item sitting on the barrels or boxes, or as you say open the cabinets, and then flee outside of the Emerald border, then repeat.

For me, the horsemen challenge is the easiest to finish than everything else. Except for the "drag someone". Either that someone stuck when I'm dragging them or someone saw me and reporting to the law. for herbalist 9 challenge i used the wagon. apart from accurately aligning it to a herb you also need to set some camera options and align it exactly in a way that arthur be covered by the wagon and if that fails you can keeo pressing a main menu button over and over again until arthur picks up the herb, in theory it resets the invisible snipers time when he shoots. with all that, this challenge is still not an easy one and personally would complete it with John when i decide to do a 100% playthrough once again

Man you don’t understand how fun it was for me doing all the challenges as Arthur, it’s possible but it’s a bit difficult when it comes to the herbalist challenges, because I had to steal a carriage from st. Denis and spend 30 or so minutes to travel to new mexico and change the view options to not get headshot by the sniper, I recommend to who’s tryin to do the challenge to practice a lot with your view position to not see the head of Arthur otherwise you’ll have to go back a lot of times, oh and also practice when you dismount from the carriage, godspeed to everyone

Oh there’s one type of herb that you can find not only in new mexico but also in a lake at north east I think, I don’t remember the name but it’s close to annesburg, from the lake go to the right part of it on the map and I think at night you can have more probability to find it, I think it’s called white weed something? The game challenges are set in a way where you have to progress through the game so progress yourself. Don't break your balls trying to complete all 90 challenges in one go.

I used the covered buggy from Saint Denis and did all of the Dinosaur bones, Legendary Animals, and Herbs. I also used Brontes mission glitch to remove all the fog from the map in New Austin & West Elizabeth, study every Landmark on the map, complete the Poisonous Trails treasure hunt, and complete the Otis Miller treasure hunt. It took many many tries to simply get to New Austin because the buggy has lights on it that catch fire to cart and destroy it, so its a matter of luck to evade the Strawberry lawmen without catching fire. Beyond that I only failed with the Legendary Animals once, as I took too long in deadeye and the camera switched to make Arthur visible, allowing the sniper to hit me. I was able to hunt every legendary, collect every herb, and study every dinosaur bone within 2 runs after successfully getting the buggy into New Austin. I failed getting to New Austin upwards of 10-15 times, and it was very annoying because the ride from Saint Denis to New Austin is pretty far.

Since you OBVIOUSLY didn't know...the PERFECT pelt could be gotten if you basically scout out the Deers,etc. you see while in stealth and see the Perfect Deer and then use either the armor piercing ammo or some of the Bows Arrows that don't harm the Pelt as much a d keep it's quality,since the ammo count and the type of ammo you're using is taken in count and is lowering the Pelt quality depending on how you acquired it...😭🤣😅

Oh, I absolutely do know about scouting, but I don't enjoy doing it. I wasn't shooting 3 star rabbits. Only 1 and 2 star rabbits were spawning. I shot them because there was a horseman challenge to do so...

You can get sharpshooter 6 after the mission with hosea you need to choose to go with him to camp and when he climb off his horse you need to get close to it by your horse and jump on it then take it out camp and kill it with dynamite and take the rifle + w video

For herbalist 9 you could of just done the chapter 4 mission where bronte send you to the cemetery with john, on your way back to his mansion lose the police then just before you entre his mansion let john go ahead of you and you can roam the entire map law free.

I was able to get the LOTE outfit as Arthur in ch 4 because i have a ps4 and a disc. I uninstalled rdr2 and then turned off the Internet on the ps4 and then reinstalled it. I did all of the 90 challenges and even did the limphany gold bar exploit and got up to 1.2 million dollars (btw this was not my first time doing all 90 challenges in rdr2)

The best way to do the dry dash to Blackwater as Arthur, is to do it early in chapter 2 *before you complete the 2nd Javier mission* As the game makes it much easier to get to Blackwater safely because Pinkertons are less deadly
