I've seen ONE kecleon since unlocking that part of the research in April. And it was on a stop on the other side of the river. Also, I live on a pokestop. Don't see myself completing this part of the research until sometype of boosted kecleon spawn event.

I finally completed this on June 27th, and it was a grind! I knew the shiny version of Jirachi was guaranteed, but I was stunned when I appraised it and it came back Shudo! I sent a screen shot and a question to one of my friends to ask if the Shundo was also a gimmy by Niantic for the grind, and when he told me it wasn’t, the months of grinding out this research felt all that much sweeter! I started playing Pokémon Go with my son in April of 21, so it’s nice to hear from veterans that this was a difficult and arduous research, and my assessment of the grind wasn’t simply due to my fairly young experience with the game.

@@chaostheultimayt So, you are a very casual player if you have been playing for years as you say and there maybe reasons why this is the case. I suggest you put your friends code up on sites to assist in your XP climb. I put my friends code up regularly on various sites. Most of the friends I have are in the high 40's if not level 50. All the youtube PoGo creators are at level 50, plus the people I see in the parks on community days and raid hours are level 45+ and all say we need the levels to go to 60. To add spice and new challenges we need new targets. Last time Niantic increased the level cap to 50 they increased ways of getting more XP. If they did this again, you would reach the higher leels quicker yourself.

That Kecleon was insane to find. The grind for it was insane. My 3rd one was shiny. However... that was ALL BEFORE this research... managed to catch all required since i work in NYC. I haven't finished the whole research yet. The excellent throws just take practice.

Personally I found the 10 best buddies the hardest part of the research. When I started it I only had 3 and getting 7 pokemon to best buddy was wayyy harder then finding some kecleon

I actually did the paid version (instead of the Last Vegas version) and it took me about 72 days (I can't remember the exact day I bought it) but I got the 10 Kecleon before I completed 20 Pokestops in a row, by using a similar method of checking every stop I could see. I also had a "lucky" friend who I could meet in person for the lucky pokemon task which ironically was a shiny Kecleon!
