the move is called "en passant" which means "in passing". On a pawn's first move, it has the option to move either 1 or 2 squares forward, whereas it only gets to move 1 square at a time from then on. This is kind of a balance to that in a specific scenario. In situations where you move a pawn the 2 squares forward, and the square you skipped is attacked by an enemy pawn, the enemy pawn can kill your pawn "in passing" as if he was able to snipe your pawn on B6 (attacking diagonally as pawns do) while he was moving through to B5. The choice to kill the pawn en passant must be used the very next move or you missed your chance.

Hot take maybe but I personally think banter and chess are a horrible combination. I don't like the trash talk aspect of any kind of sport, but especially in chess it just feels so incredibly misplaced. Chess to me is this eloquent, elegant and smooth entity. Bringing banter into this feels like some random guy trying to banter with the queen of england. Just so out of place idk how to describe it. I know it's all in good fun, but to me it's just pure annoyance. I guess it's not my type of humor? That's just me though. People from the US especially seem to really like their banter shenanigans (in general) and I'm not gonna sit here and dismiss the fact that it's a subjective thing.
