After I saw the video when S/M was freshening up Clark’s motor & he told Steve he run Rev-X & saw the results in the motor parts , boom I now have Rev-X in my old truck. Great product!

Clark, Glad to have met you guys in Arkansas and glad the run ended ok with a new record. It was good to get some after thoughts here in this video about what happened. I’m still amazed that the rear wing tore off so violently given the attachments and support rods. It kinda tells me there was some severe aero issues at play at the rear of the car. Hoping you figure this out but I’m just guessing you have a very low pressure area created at the rear of the car above 200mph. Since you changed the nose of the car that also changes the way the air goes over the whole car. If this now causes a low pressure area on top of the trunk area then lift (like an airplane wing) is greatly increased in that area. Remember the Bernoulli Principle and also that force increases 4 times for every doubling of velocity. So 200 in a drag race 1/4 mile is one thing but 270 in one mile is a lot more force and if its applied in the wrong direction the back end becomes light as your video seems to show. Seems it’s time to do some aero testing and redesign the rear wing shape for LSR as opposed to drag racing. I admit I have no idea how much you tested the new front nose but be careful adding more frontal area because your CDA could actually be affected adversely even though you have the HP to push that air past the nose of the car. Good luck and hope you get it figured out. I think this is definitely the car to push that record much higher. Looking forward to meeting up at a future event. It didn't have anything to do with aero. Nothing changed on the front end. The old piece was torn up on the bottom so it was replaced but the angle and such didn't change. The car has been in the wind tunnel so we aware of how the air is flowing over the car. It has been used for the mile for 8 years and has multiply 240+ runs. The only reason the rear end got upset was because the wing ripped off. The cause of the wing coming off has been figured out and already been corrected. We will be ready to return in October.

@@hopefloats7166 Great news and glad to hear the cause is know for the wing coming off. From the video info only I was not sure if the front nose piece was a brand new design to the car this year. Very cool you were able to get wind tunnel testing done and have prior air flow data to work from. Maybe someday there can be another video explaining the cause of the wing coming off the car. I’m sure many of us could learn from the experience.

@@380.motorsports We believe it was due to the rivets that held it on. We don't believe they were strong enough to hold it even though we ran 262 in October without issues. The wing has been on the car for several years but over time we feel the rivets got weaker so we are changing how it is attached to the car to make sure that it won't happen again.

@@hopefloats7166 Interesting and a likely cause. I admit, I used 1/4” Rivnuts as part of holding mine on to the trunk lid and I have one of those to replace as it came loose. And I’m not going as fast as you are. Another thing to add to the check list before racing I guess.
