Hey everyone! Join me today as I watch Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle for the first time! This movie had me laughing the entire time and the story was very well done! The continuation from the original is amazing to watch over and over again.
Four high school kids discover an old video game console and are drawn into the game's jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose. What they discover is that you don't just play Jumanji - you must survive it. To beat the game and return to the real world, they'll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, discover what Alan Parrish left 20 years ago, and change the way they think about themselves - or they'll be stuck in the game forever.

Hippos are FIERCELY territorial. The Kraft brothers set a raft with a mannequin down a hippo-infested river. When it got past the hippos, the raft was more torn up then that little kids raft in "Jaws". And all they found of the mannequin was it's head.

Talk about appearances being deceiving. Even Steve Irwin was absolutely terrified of those things, and he handled snakes and crocodiles. Hippos were a big no-no.

Alex didn’t make it into a video game. The cursed game recognized it had to adapt, evolve. You can tell after he put it up and started playing, it was observing how this other game works. Then that night, it changed then lured him in. Alan Parrish was Robin Williams character and the main character who got stuck in Jumanji for years. The game remade Van Pelt the Hunter into the bad guy of its video game. Then when the game was completed and it showed the entire jungle, you could see the entire pathway of the original board game.

12:11 Hippos are actually the most dangerous animal in Africa, not lions or rhinos. They get pretty damn scary when they get territorial, especially considering their jaws are strong enough to squish a giant watermelon like it's a peeled grape.

Im loving the new hair! When this movie came out, people were doing the usual "stop making remakes!" Crap. I think what I love most is that this isn't a remake or a reboot, its a continuation. And I think they did a great job, love this film.

Ohhhh, you REALLY don't wanna know! I was on a safari tour in a wildlife reserve near Swaziland a few years ago, and two female white rhinos got mad at each other for being near their territory line, and our Jeep happened to be between them as the one behind us started to charge... Needless to say, we got the heck outta there! Rhinos make charging bulls look like a toddler stamping his foot because he didn't get ice cream.

jack black did such an amazing job with his part, i love the rock, i like when the rock and kevin hart play together in movies, it's so cool that when they meet up with the boy that's been missing which thats Nick Jonas that it talks about the ploace he made when he was gone for years in the game in the first one. What is it with Alex Wolff and changing forms (turning into the avatars and becoming older in "Old")? And The Rock's got a thing for jungle movies When my family watched this movie for the first time last year, we were laughing our heads off cause it was so funny. Then we couldn't stop quoting it. And Cody, I too agree with Martha and her argument about not wanting to do P.E.. When I saw this, I thought, "She's right." I don't understand why they credit Kevin Hart as Fridge and Karen Gillian as Martha instead of crediting them as "Moose Finbar" and "Ruby Roundhouse." Martha is actually really pretty, in my opinion, she's just not "all up in your face" pretty like Bethany is

A great refresh for the franchise. All the cast are great. Yes, that is the girl who played Nebula, and she is also one of imho the best Doctor Who companions with a great story arc. I was a total fan then... and devastated when she shaved her hair off for Nebula lol (pics online). Highly recommended to check out those seasons... Who at it's best. Unbelievably, the same actors do a brilliant job acting as completely different people again in the next Jumanji installment. Totally worth checking out Cody

I don't think Spencer just gave Fridge a copy of his paper from the previous year, I think there are just certain metaphors and terms that he uses in his papers that the teachers caught on to, and while reading Fridge's report they were like, "hey, this sounds like Spencer."

Alan Parish is the guy from the original Jumanji film. The kid who was stuck in the board game for many years and was free later on. Came out as a bearded Robin Williams. Kind of a cool nod. Also, that black piece elephant from the snake in the box scene is another nod to the original board game. As the missing piece. There's supposed to be four players in the board game. Not five. And if you think this first part is funny, wait until you see the sequel. The film really surprised me, too. I thought it was going to be bad, but it turned out to be funny. In a good way.

Allen Parish was Robin Williams from the first movie, remember he got sucked into the jungle before and lived there for.. I wanna say 30 years? Not sure I remember right just how long it was, but after finishing the game he was sent right back where he started it as a kid, just like the guy from this movie Allen's treehouse is a nice call-back to the first movie and along with the beginning that shows how the board game turned into a video game a nice way to show that they still respect the original (in my opinion anyways, there will always be people that say such classics shouldn't be touched or build upon at all)

12:11 - Hippos are actually among the meanest and most dangerous animals. 16:30 - What I didn't like much is the fact that while The Rock and Karen Gillan managed to play Spencer's and Martha's personalities well, Kevin Hart basically played as himself which is funny but inconsistent with Fridge who's supposed to be confident and Jack Black played a stereotypical superficial teenage girl who is actually friendly while Bethany is introduced as a much worse case, with very little empathy and connection to reality (essentially a sociopath).

The reason the Jaguar didn’t sniff out Nick Jonas/Alex at the climax because the jaguars are still part of the video game and they’re not programmed to hunt you, just chase you. I credit Cinema Wins for pointing this out

This movie is a soft reboot, or basically an indirect sequel. The beginning of this movie aligns with the end of the original, which I believe is the only thing we have to know this. The game in the original was left adrift, and in this movie, it washed up ashore.
