yep. I work at a grocery store full time and cannot afford anything outside of my photoshop subscription telling myself: Once I get that good art job I will take some art courses and accelerate my skills my skills even more. But it's like getting cramps in a race and everybody starts passing you as I have to take more hours at non art jobs to just pay my bills. sigh

@Ozy Illustrates Well. set aside money for the lessons & do them in intervals then?... Don't allow yourself to wallow in excuses man. Find solutions & set reasonable goals.

with college yes, its very difficult. With Schoolism, it's at least doable for most people. $200 wasn't easy for me but it's doable for a year

These days is impossible to find a job after art school. You need connections and especially : luck My advice : Keep your day job (normal 9-5 job) and do your art as a hobby. Remember: You need money first to survive. You do not want to become a starving artist

I think this has even a good point, and it's your art will not be affected by the fear and stress of not being sold/paid enough. I've usually suffered from paralysis per analysis, and finally I'm enjoying my art more now that is not my main income.

I am from India, and I am not confident that a good paying art job can be found here, for now my plan is to go to college for engineering and grow art as a hobby and hopefully in the future earn decent money from my art. I am in high school rn

How do you know its impossible if you don’t try? It’s a shame that your comment has received likes. Don’t rule yourself out until you have tried.

I graduated from a small design college located in one Eastern European country. Well...I couldn't find a job, even though I have this sheet of paper. I received a rejection after rejection. I released that nothing that I had in my college portfolio was actually relevant in the real world. My portfolio was filled with bunch of brochures, flyers, banners, simple bus stop posters and stuff like that. While I am still not a "pro" after taking two Schoolism classes, but at least I am aware what is actually relevant in the industry and how to build a nice portfolio.

Hey Bobby, how you doing? As an intermediate artist we are shaking little bit after seeing AI generated art,and also it's breaks our motivation to learning and becoming batter artist .I know it's not that affected professional level and art jobs are there as always.but still it's affecting the mind statuses of who is still learning like me.please make proper video about it to explain why and how to react and take this situation.and also honestly I am using ai creat references not using it for final out puts,is it good or bad ?

If you are majoring in Art, please don't waste your time. It's very difficult to find a job now. People have some sort of prejudice against art majors, and it's true that you would have a hard time finding a job anywhere.

I'm from South Africa and the our animation industry this side is very small, thriving and growing but definitely small I truly hope that, one day, that break will come for me... I'm starting to notice it comes in small stages for me, the progress is slow, but it's still there So I'll keep buckling until I get to where I wanna be 😤 goodluck to everyone and their own art journeys! And thank you Bobby for being a huge source of inspiration and motivation for many years for me 😌

Hi Bobby! I'm definately on this boat right now. I live all the way in the middle east where the animation industry is quite limited and as a fresh graduate I really dont know what to do to kickstart my career. You have mentioned networking in your video which is something I've heard endlessly, but what to do when there are barely any people to reach out to? or a lack of response etc. I know that it all gets better in due time but to be completely honest it's seeming very bleak right now.

Hi Malak! There are a few things you can try to market yourself and get your artwork out there, and we recommend checking out these videos full of amazing advice from industry pros! Here is a recent panel webinar all about how to network: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ6cpYqHprGBkJo And here is an inspiring interview with a storyboard artist from Trinidad and Tobago named Rajen Ramkallawan who was able to use social media to get discovered kzbin.info/www/bejne/jH3ak42Pq9mSm9k We hope this helps and wish you the best of luck😊 ~S
