I CRASHED INTO A HEIGHT BARRIER! - Also, Urban Stealth Camping in NOTTINGHAM CITY

I BROKE MY VAN! Yes, I know this is supposed to be a CHRISTMAS episode, filled with happiness and festive spirit. And indeed it started out that way. Having recently become friends with Neil and Emma from ‪@UrbanVanlife‬ I decided to attempt a SOLO URBAN STEALTH CAMP, in honour of Neil and Emma's "Urban" nature. So I headed for NOTTINGHAM, my nearest convenient city.
The plan was to park-up somewhere suitably URBAN and MENACING, where I would then settle in to enjoy a scheduled LIVE broadcast by Neil and Emma. But not everything went according to plan...

Oh my Kit! I'm terribly sorry about your van troubles, but it will be behind you in the blink of an eye. I freaked out because I inadvertently turned off the oven somewhere in the middle of baking a pie, so who knows if I can salvage it. Then while I was raging around the kitchen, I put on my glasses and found I was under siege by ants. What did I do? I instructed myself to calm down, and do one tiny task at a time. I told myself "well done Barbie" after each one. Now I'm having a cuppa and loving your beautiful singing! we'll get through it all my friend. As my dear departed dad always said, "Keep your chin up!"💕💕

Ah, Barbara, you are indeed the voice of reason. I'm taking some time to get my equilibrium back, as this series has reached a natural end. What a pain that is. To be honest though it’s just a sign that you will be better off to take it down. It will give you more limbo space under the barriers. Hope you can get it fixed soon and that trouble can be forgotten. 👍

I'm kicking myself for the carelessness, but you're right. A little more limbo space would certainly be appreciated. But I guess this is one of the lessons you learn on the road driving a tall vehicle. Rookie mistake. Rather embarrassing. 😊

How nice you got to message with Urban Vanlife! Aww for accidentally damaging your van :(. Aww big hug. Awww. Ah yeah when I bought a stepladder for my house I specifically got a more sturdy one beause I'm a fatty too. Ladders are so expensive, I had no idea before I bought one. I hope the van is fixed now and that it wasn't too expensive. Big hugs again.

, the aerial should just slot back in to that mount mate , also you could slot it in and tape round it until you get it looked at . oak tree are so nice and rob is a legend, I need to wake you up more hahahahahahaha

I thought it should slot in, bit it looks uneven and as if it's snapped. I did try to slot it in, but it wouldn't budge. I'll let the experts tackle it. I'm way too clumsy! Lol And yes, feel free to wake me anytime. But I can't promise not to be a grumpy bastard. 😉😁

Oh Kit, what a shame! I am so sorry this happened to you.... how stressful for this to happen while everything is closed for Xmas too..... You can take that pesky ladder back to B & Q with your receipt and get a refund as i doubt you will use it again anyway. i would still love for you to do the urban stealth camping in Nottingham City once the van is repaired. Don't let this put you off because accidents happen, and they happen to everyone at some point don't they. Let's look on the bright side.... at least now you can have the motorhome place remove that TV ariel so it won't ever be a nuisance to you again!.......

Well, I must admit I am more embarrassed than stressed out. At least now that some time has passed. And it hadn't even occurred to me to get the ladder refunded. I'll give it some serious thought, but maybe it would be useful to have around, just in case. I may well attempt to stealth camp in Nottingham again. But not for a while. I need to put some distance between me and the scene of my humiliation! Lol. Thanks for watching. 😊 x

Thanks, Debbi. And well done for recognising the musical. That was a very obscure recording from the 1977 London West End production in which my dad appeared for two years. It was my introduction to musicals at the age of 3. 😁x

Well, honestly this video wasn't my best work, and I regret overreacting so much and cancelling Christmas. On reflection I feel that I should have stuck to the original plan and made a merry Christmassy video at the Christmas market, and gone for twinkles rather than misery. But I am Eeyore. Ah unlucky on the damage buddy. I'd get them to just remove it if you don't use it and get some solar or something that will serve you better in the long run. With internet now there's no real need for a TV aerial these days :)
