FULL DESCRIPTION
I have been working on this project for quite a while now, and I am excited to finally share with you the "end" result (I'm actually going to keep adding to it). I have finally gotten to the point where I have it fully in running in Unreal Engine how I want it, and I was also able to add some blueprints to it for interactivity. I always knew this is where I wanted to end up with it, and I truly do believe this is the pinnacle of what archviz can do at the moment. My project is not the pinnacle, obviously, but the technology is I think. Follow along with the video until the end and see all the steps I went through, the techniques I used, the things I learned, and how the finished project turned out. I'll give you my thoughts and insights throughout, and I would love to hear yours in the comments as always.

thats great, thanks for the BP ideas... what would be ideal would be having a dropdown asset list that a customer could change instantly, and be designing their own interiors at the same time. Like your example of kitchen marble, having a list from suppliers available and the customer changing up in real time.

Congratulations mate, it looks great and I love the way you've presented it. The fact that this was an idea you've had in mind and you have managed to translate it into Unreal, for what I assume is, your first archviz project in Unreal is amazing and you should feel really proud of yourself. I'm about to finish something up myself really soon too so would love to know what you think about it when it comes out. Keep up the good work!

I've done lots of experimentation in the past in Unreal, but this is the most advanced project I have done there, and definitely the first I've done in a while with Lumen, all the interactions, etc. I'm going to keep going with this one because it has been so much fun. Thanks so much for watching!

Also, just a little tip as you are using a condenser mic, which tend to be more sensitive than dynamic mics, you can move it a bit further away and to the side to avoid pops for Ps, Bs, etc.

Incredible project, your talent is indescribable and just like your ability to communicate with great sensitivity, the mastery of unreal here is one of the best. A technical query, how do you avoid light flickering on the surfaces in the viewport wend "Lit" is activated ? To so much for your videos
@Learn-archViz

The most flickering I experienced using Lumen was with light emitting objects or self-illumination. I was able to fix it by limiting that and lighting with Unreal Engine lights instead. With that set up, Lumen performed very well.

You know, I'm not sure I've completely tested that. I need to. It does work beautifully in Vantage. Also, I think creating scatters natively in UE, with real time optimized assets, would create a much more efficient scene.

I don't know because I have been working on it on and off for a really long time. That said, the most work for sure was the modeling and materials. When you are creating from scratch, there is a lot of going back and forth and trying to get things to look just right. Once everything is looking good in Max/Vray, though, it is not too crazy to put it into real time, because things translate well. Blueprints can again be time consuming, but only when you are trying to figure things out as you go. If I were to do this again, I could get the blueprints up and running quite quickly. If I were to build this again from a set of plans, all the way to interactive walkthrough, I would estimate that it would take me maybe 30-40 hours with 70% of that time spent in 3ds Max / V-Ray.

Hey Adam, awsome product !!! One question: so lets say the client wants changes like diff mats, other furniture models or even design changes etc ... would be that a big or a medium headake to go trough ? How would you approach this, u would go in 3ds max and do these changes and import again in UE ? and if u do, would u have to redo the blueprints, lights and stuff all over ? Or u can somehow update the UE file with the new changes ? If u would have a client with an interior & exterior house design, with a real location context, like a suburban n-hood for ex, would u also create the surroundings in 3d ? If yes, how would u approach that ? I subscribed & liked, ur answer would be much appreciated.
@Learn-archViz
@Learn-archViz 5 ай бұрын
To your first question, yes, Datasmith allows you re-import your geometry from Max without disrupting all the work you have already done in Unreal Engine. In fact, it can even be setup as a live link. You just have to get the workflow right, but it does allow for changes without losing work. To your second question, yes, I would create most of that in 3ds Max as well. The thing I save for Unreal is a lot of the natural surroundings, because it has such great tools and assets for those types of things. It is not so good at modeling hardscaping, surrounding bldgs and custom objects, etc.

How would you send something like this to a client? It's my understanding that you can't package for iOS when using Windows so if your client only has iOS devices is there still a way to send it to them?

Would be awesome to see how fast (and the process step by step) you can convert an interior livingroom scene in Corona Render to Unreal and then make animations from there. I find it tidious to convert an already finished corona interior scene to UE

They still don't make Vantage for Corona, right? That would be the perfect solution if all you need is an animation.

I have had an Unreal Engine course for a long time, so the course has a lot of things in it. It started with an extensive UE4 project similar to this one. When UE5 came out I added a full UE5 project using Lumen, Nanite, etc and rendering out cinematics. Now, to add in some of the blueprints and interactions, I am demonstrating with the project you see in this video. Some has been added already, but more coming in the upcoming weeks/months. The same interactions I am using here are already shown in the course, but using the UE4 project as the example (blueprints have not really changed). Hopefully that is helpful. Check the links in the description if you're interested.

I have a whole lot of questions to ask because I want to bring out my dream house from my imagination into reality. Please help me out. First of all I want to know if there is like an online version for unreal engine or would I need like a powerful PC to run it. Secondly for the modeling part You used 3DS max. I created a house on sketchup about 13 years ago and exported to lumion. Can you export from sketchup to unreal? Thirdly you mentioned something about adding furniture and grass and all the free stuff. Are those available in unreal? Whats the best software to place things inside the building? I'd appreciate any help on this thanks...
@Learn-archViz
@Learn-archViz 14 күн бұрын
You should check out my videos on Twinmotion. Consider it Unreal Engine light. Still takes a pretty powerful PC to run (no online version) but it can do everything you need. It has all the stuff you would want to add too. Sketchup will be fine. It is very similar to Lumion, but it has VR capability
@wira1saputra
@wira1saputra 6 ай бұрын
does vray for sketchup also integrate well with unreal engine?
@Learn-archViz
@Learn-archViz 6 ай бұрын
Good question. There is a Datasmith exporter for SketchUp, so if it works similar to the 3ds Max exporter, it will pick up all the V-Ray stuff and convert it nicely to VR. I have not tried this, though.

How my lights do you have? Don't they destroy your framerate? Any advice or tricks you can share?
@Learn-archViz
@Learn-archViz 6 ай бұрын
I haven't counted, but I bet I have around 100 lights and framerate remains good. The key is Lumen. It gives really good quality without a huge hit to frame rate. It does struggle in a few areas on the interior, mostly on light emitting objects. The exterior works beautifully with a simple HDRI setup.

Is it possible to use those Archviz projects and interactive projects and turn into a game?
@Learn-archViz
@Learn-archViz 5 ай бұрын
IDK what the difference would be honestly. This is created using the same techniques and software as a game. It essentially IS a game. The only question is how much interaction you want to add, and if you want to "gamify" it more using additional blueprints. So, the answer is yes. There is nothing special about a "game" that could not be done here as well.

Really cool! How much would you charge a client for something like that? Ballpark range :-)
@Learn-archViz
@Learn-archViz 6 күн бұрын
This one is hard to say, because I spent so much time "designing" and modeling in 3d. If I had the plans for it already, and wasn't spending the time making all those decisions, it would be much, much faster. So, basically, however much time it would take to model all of this, plus maybe 10-15 more hours to set up all the UE5 and interactive stuff. The UE5 stuff can go much faster once you have it figured out too, because it can easily be applied to other projects. I think if this was a normal client project where they provide all the plans and finishes to me, I would look at this and estimate 40 hrs for completion. Obviously, that can change a lot too with how many custom objects/materials you need to build, and how much back and forth there is with the client.

@@michaelkukula5926It does vary a lot, but if you were to hire a professional studio to do this in the US, I think the rate would be around $100/hr or more. Freelancers might do it for a much lower hourly rate.

This one it is hard to say, because I actually developed this model off and on for a really long time. Adding all the interaction took quite a while too, because I was experimenting A LOT, but no all these principles can be merged with future projects. I think that now, after having figured out the workflow and the blueprints, I could take a finished model and have it up and running with these kinds of interactions in maybe 10-15 hrs at this same quality. A lot of that time would be adapting materials, lighting, and blueprints to the specific project.
