I think I can see what you mean about Rouge. This one seems to lean more toward the witty side rather than the classy reserved side. Not that she hasn't always been both but I remember her Sonic X version leaning more toward the classy reserved side. That may make her appear a bit more lighthearted and less edgy than what we could expect from her in team Dark.

Not many people know, but in the expert mode of Shadow, the Hedgehog Abraham actually apologises to Shadow about how he treated him in the game. He then mentioned that his first grandkid was born a week beforehand, and if Shadow wanted to come to dinner to meet the commander family showing he was trying to make amends

Sadly, no future was awaiting Shadow on Earth, but "death", and Maria knew about it all this time. Shadow is a "weapon" that was created just for curing Maria and nothing else. In the end, Maria foresaw a brighter future where Shadow would still be alive and the universel a better place, and ultimately sacrificed herself to make it happen.

fun fact: the shuttle deattaching from the main rocket was a metaphor. shadow said "I must focus on the mission at hand" and at the same time the shuttle deattached, it represented him letting go of the life that was taken from him and focusing on what he has to do.

Rouge has actually had this voice actor since the original sonic generations im pretty sure. She just never got a lot of parts to play because rouge was barely in any games or shows until sonic forces pretty much. Also Sonic prime doesn’t really count because they used different voice actors for that show. So this is basically the first time in quite a few years that she got to be the voice of rouge. And yes she does sound different at times because it seems like they want rouge to feel more flirty and cute nowadays rather than sassy and mature like she used to be back on stuff like Sonic X. But she does sometimes sound sassy/sultry during these episodes.

Never really was able to make friends that cared even a little bit about sonic games growing up, so to see so many people on YT absolutely light up about Shadow in the 3rd movie and celebrating the era of sonic games that I grew up playing with the new Generations (Adventure 1 and 2 on DC are my babies)... it just feels really nice to see people getting super hype and expressing the same feelings I had when I was little that I was never really able to share with others. ^^

Those last few scenes were not flashbacks but Shadow was thinking about what his life could have been if he had healed Maria and gone to Earth together then he said he had to focus on the mission because his Life was taken from him a long time ago. what makes the fact that Maria is in sonic x shadow generations probably very sad because Shadow probably has to let her go and to restore the timeline probably bring her back to her own time knowing that she is going to die

What chills I get watching this series! Not only is Shadow given the spotlight, but I think the scenes on the Ark really show that he’s not just a brute who rushes in without thinking, as Sega has unfortunately portrayed him over the past 15 years, whether in games or animated series like Sonic Boom and Sonic Prime. I’m truly glad that 2024 is shaping up to be Shadow’s year, whether it’s with the game Sonic X Shadow Generations or the movie Sonic 3.

This... this right here is peak Sonic storytelling. I've been saying this for a while but the way Sonic beats out Mario... is with story. Sonic can tell impactful stories, with heartbreak, with loss, with failure, in a way that Mario could never even dream of. And this is absolute proof that it can achieve that impact. So long as SEGA continues like this, I am all abord the hype train. I think Sonic games need to go backwards just a bit more as well. does anyone remember back when you could get bad endings? when you could fail? Sonic 2. half way through the first zone the entire forest erupts into flames because sonic couldn't stop it... that still impacts me to this day. Or Sonic CD where if you didn't change the past you would end up in the bad future. I think we need a Sonic game where Failure is absolutely an option. I would play so hard to get good at a game like that.

Please Sega... surely they can see how much we ADORED this series. I would gladly pay for a full show/anime. Not only for the animation, but for this take on the characters. Omega being the comedy relief is a fun take, and unlike many comedy relief characters, it doesn't feel like he's the butt of the joke either. It helps that he's badass. I actually like this take on Rouge. She feels significantly less sexualized, especially compared to something like Sonic X. The different voice helps distinguish this version from the others. And Shadow... for too long he's been just the edgy, cool character. But this version added so much depth. You get a much better sense of his emotions and understand how he came to be this way. He felt more... _raw_ and the shuttle scene really spoke volumes about him. Like when he shakes away the memories to focus on the task at hand, it just... makes so much sense. It perfectly encapsulates his character and mindset at the moment. Uhhh... congrats if you read all my yapping. Sorry about the rant XD

Don't get it wrong. Shadow realises the (dark) fate that was awaiting him if he succeeded to heal Maria for good. He is not sleeping, he is "dead", and Maria covers his corpse to make him part of the flower field and Earth.
