I did the same thing to one of my Exsence DCs because the handles look plain as all hell. Went with the ZPI carbonfiber 92mm, kept the stock knobs, and put Hedgehog Air Kattobi bearings on the spool. Good choice on your parts, Avail makes some good stuff.

You should totally trick out a curado k. Maybe with green accent parts. That should look sick. Your reel looks awesome but why not upgrade the mgl instead of the old one?

Because the MGL still has a few casting tests to go through. Curado K is a good idea, maybe after a year or 2

You may want to check out this video first before you think about aftermarket bearings kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5OUeH-Ch8ugaK8 the bearings on the 13 Met are so good you probably wont gain any peformance advantage with high dollar bearings

yea you said that these bearings decrease the casting distance, but my metanium is grinding and the only thing that could be the problem are the bearings... so thats why im asking...

clean them first, but if that doesnt help, id suggest buying replacements from Shimano, or get some Hedghog or ZPI bearings. Just remember the ceramics are louder

I've painted quite a few of mine, and there are forums full of people who have done amazing jobs on theirs. I've never heard of any problems other than bad masking that plugged holes and threads with paint. only use high quality industrial paints, not hardware store rattle cans.

I dont know the size but i believe all knob bearings are the same size for shimanos if not all brands.
