My fav date happened during the lockdown period. During this time, 'The Phantom of The Opera' recorded musical was being aired on youtube Live for free at 2am. I was really hyped about it but the guy I was potentially dating at the time wasn't into musicals / operas /dances or even music in general (he is the calm, stoic kind of guy). I mustered up the courage to ask him whether he wanted to watch the musical with me during our voice chats and to my surprised he said yes, let's make it a DATE. fml my heart was beating so hard for some reason ahh XD He even suggested that we each turn off our room lights so that it would seem like we are sitting there and watching the real thing.

There was one night where I only got back home at 9+pm, haven't had dinner yet because there were unfortunate things that happened causing the delay. This person texted me and asked if I've had dinner and immediately drove over upon hearing my updates. I found his actions to be really touching because 1) he already had his dinner 2) he just got home himself and had showered. when he rushed over, his hair was visibly wet!! 3) we lived a bit of a distance from each other. His sincerity was definitely heartfelt :)

Best dating experiences: 1st r/s, the one where I was dumped lol, that girl and I sat beside each other and so every day we engaged in banters and used to bring different song lyrics to school to sing together. Then after school go to kbox lol. Then in the past I gave her some glass box from precious thoughts and I asked her to guess what that was for. Then she was guessing all day long until I handed her a folded paper star with some lovey-dovey message written on it. That glass box ended up filled with folded star messages. For another r/s: After that I lived in Japan, most of the time I took a free shuttle bus service to a mall. The mall is a neighbourhood mall and is quiet most of the time. I liked a girl whose family owns a fashion outlet in that mall after interacting with her for months. Then I decided to go to her store in the morning when there was no one except her assistant whom arrived earlier and pasted post-it sticky notes in her shop and around the mall lol. It was like some amazing race activity, where the first note was a hint which led to the next note pasted somewhere else in the mall. The notes contained good memories of moments we shared at various particular spots in the mall. The last note was in my hands and it wrote: “I like you”. I just wanted to show her that I remembered all the moments we shared together, and also to see if she remembers all of them too. Thankfully she did hahaha. Final r/s: Scavenger hunt in another country. My current girlfriend loves being on the move and so I planned a special date for her whereby you can use this app called let’s roam and it tells you the place where you should start the race. Then it tells you to take some photos together like for example “go to the blabla beach and do some blabla pose” in order to complete the activity at that spot, then it asks you to find something meaningful like a monument and gives you a simple quiz on it. Because of it we explored, found and learnt many new things about that city. The best part was when the app finally brought us to a place (hill) high enough to sit on the grass and enjoy the beautiful scenery (city view below). Oh we didn’t win the scavenger hunt, the app shows you a scoreboard and other teams won, but winning wasn’t the main point anyway haha.

When I think of best dates, I think of my boyfriend who remembers my little requests and tries to make them a reality. Like eating at a certain store, going hiking or swimming. He doesn’t sweet talk and I have realised that he is just a very practical person. I feel that if you had a good time with the other person and enjoy their company, it is a good date. My favorite dates are ones when my boyfriend and I go eat some good food and talk about our lives e.g. work and future plans with each other. Being able to have heart to heart talks with my boyfriend makes me feel great because at work, a lot of time is spent having small talk and being an introvert, that drains me. Both of us were walking around through the whole circuit breaker so I wondered why not let's walk around Bukit Timah Reserve. We met at 7.30 to tap card to save 50 cents, and take the train to Beauty World, there we had a breakfast and then we begin with a hike up Bukit Timah Hill, up and down, saw the beautiful Quarries, and then we hiked all over the reserve, but the railway closed so we hiked along Bukit Timah which had a lot of interesting historic buildings. We then ended with a fried chicken at Beauty World, it wasn't good, but was refreshing and recharging and I lost weight from walking 10km plus. A nice date, and really scenic.

I agree with Sylvia's point of view on a great date. I'm someone who loves learning new things and whether I'll comprehend it or not is another thing, but I always appreciate gaining any form of knowledge. I also love having interesting discussions and deep conversations with someone (as long as they're willing to open up) because it really shows a person's true color and because I'm a sentimental person so the ability to have heart to heart talk is greatly valued by me. Speaking of good dates, I only dated a few guys in my lifetime, but my fondest memory was when I visited my long distanced ex and he brought me to places that sells trinkets and odd books which he I knew I'll like, so I really appreciate it when someone brings me to placed I don't know of because I love adventures.

My favourite date is when my date finds out about the current situation I'm facing and tries to help me improve on my applications, answers etc. I found it unique because guys are always trying to impress but a guy who tries to solve a problem or two is impressive. Just like Sylvia's interests in learning something new, this guy helped me learn about flaws i never knew existed so that I'm able to help myself. One of my favourite dates was the first one with my boyfriend. it was just a supper at simpang bedok together with great food and conversation. and it was suggested by him because he wanted me to go there as he raved on the super good mee goreng pataya. haha. it was the simplest, not the most glam, but it was the fact that we could connect so well through good conversations and in a place like simpang bedok. it just made me realise, not all the glam dates will be good. the connection with the other person is the most important.
