Love your content, Alexis. I'm a straight woman, married, mother of three and I have to deal with sexists jokes at work. It sucks. I thought about quitting my job because of that but I complained to the management and things calmed down. It dowsn't matter how good the pay is, if the work envionrement is toxic then it's not worth it. And if the pay isn't that high anyway, the job it's not worth it. You'll find something better. :)

Hello Alexis, I've just discovered your channel and it's been a bit if a revelation to me. Im a straight white woman and a mother to a little boy. I am liberal and i feel like i've been twisting myself in knots trying to find the right inclusive language, to be inoffensive but live in reality. I really think you hit the nail on the head with almost everything. Trans women (and men of course) have the right to be safe and included in society. However, to hear SOME say they have periods, demand access to our spaces without making enough effort to be less threatening, insist that they are biologically female, makes it impossible to take those types of people seriously. You are doing an amazing job of reminding everyone that the loudest, most hysterical part of the community does not reflect the rest of the community. Keep up the great work. I hope you find a job you are comfortable doing.

Asa woman, I just want to put it out there, that sometimes there are individuals that use the terms Dude, Mate, Bro, Gurl, and all that other stuff as unisex terms. I call my best guy friend "girlfriend" some times, and he calls me "His bro" and I never really thought about how that might make someone on the outside feel, though I don't go out of my way to do that to everyone. I just think some folk should be aware that sometimes just because I might look at you, trans or not, and call you dude, or girlfriend, doesn't mean I am ignoring your true identity, I m trying to use these words in a way that you can just say them to anyone. PS. I have also been misgendered most of my life, I unfortunately am a female with prominent facial hair growth, and sometimes shaving or putting make-up on doesn't help me so I have been met with "Hey man." or "Have a nice day sir" many, many times so in a way I get it. Alexis, if you read this, you can take it however you please, good or bad, but in the end I just want you to know that how you look on the outside does not fully define you, it is how you feel on the inside that matters most, and no one can ever take that away from you. Love you, and I hope for all the best for you in the future that comes your way.

@@soulcenterhealinghypnosis I asked my question because of the good person on this channel. I find that the bad ones like DM and JM make a mockery of women which then makes the lives of the good ones like Alexis that much harder. Sorry but I'll never believe either of them are truly trans but rather have found the attention they so desperately seek and wealth playing caricatures of what a woman is. It angers me to have men make jokes about women's lives as they have done. It angers me that they care not about all the trans men and women who have fought really hard to be respected in their authentic bodies but parade in beards and make comments like let's normalize the bulge or run around pretending to be a cartoon little girl like Eloise. This stuff is not someone who's trapped in the wrong body and who suffers body dysmorphia, and it makes it incredibly hard on those who are. I love Alexis and respect her thoughts. I don't always agree 💯 with everything but I respect her and am open to learning from her hence my comment.

babe ironically i just quit a job i worked at for 11 years because they held my pay after i did the work, and so i took personal days to try and figure shit out, and low and behold HR calls to threaten me with termination because i needed time off. our attorney is having a blast with that, considering our supervisor would forge doctors notes for the people she liked and wrongful termination due to issues with pay. If a job brings you stress, anger or is bringing you down, NEVER choose to ride it out. I woke up when i realized a company i bent over backwards for, for 11 years didnt give a single shit if i were to drop dead tomorrow. Never be somewhere, where they make you feel any less then you are. Money sometimes just isnt worth the emotional and mental gymnastics youre going to inevitably be put through.... Im glad you did it, because just no. Screw being belittled or ridiculed by people who wouldnt even consider helping you, if you needed help. Just not worth it.

I had a similar situation (I work as an admin in the warehouse). Months of talking about me by my supervisor and another colleague with the young staff that didn't even know me just because I had a courage to speak with this supervisor openly about some issues. December was the worst cause they did not hold themselves any more: sights, comments, lies, judging my work (not working directly with me). I ended up with depression and anxiety. My biggest mistake when I reported that to my supervisor was: I don't want anyone to lose the job, just want them to stop to talk about me. So it was yours as well. No one experienced any serious consequences. After months I see that I should have expected them to take a legal action. Everyone works and behaves like nothing happened and it's me feeling extremely uncomfortable and not happy at work. And I'm sorry to say that, but the English are the masters of being so sweet and nice to each other and the same time talk behind the backs. I observe that since I work in admin's and I don't even know how people here can deal with that. You did right to quit the job. You have support there. They all the time need admins in warehouses and as you know, Yorkshire is full of them. Sign up to Linked, expand network and you will find something quickly like part time or something. Or just do what you do right now.

Im happy for you . Life is too short and precious to be somewhere unsafe, experience bulling and ostracism- and not be compensated fairly for the job you do . As a single Mom I worked a retail job so grateful to be employed but it was really a struggle to feed my family and pay the bills within their pay / commission structure . Then a very abusive manger came and it went from being a pleasant, creative , supportive atmosphere to anxiety, fear and disrespect and having to watch while he dressed down other employees in a humiliating, degrading way . I couldn’t stand it . I would go to my car and cry at lunch . My colleges would beg me not to quit because I was the only one who advocated for a respectful workplace and stood up on others behalf( HR did nothing ) The day I quit I was terrified at how irresponsible I felt - a single mom with no paycheck ….. but that made me start me own business doing something I love . Its been 7 years and I make more money each week than I ever did working that job in a month ! I cant wait to see what unfolds for you

I’m from Aus; and we say cheers mate, as a sign of thanks- it’s for both males & females to use as appreciation for each other as well as a toast when drinking!!!! I’m glad you didn’t take it to personally- I hope it wasn’t meant in a derogatory manner. 😘😘😘

I get the anxiety, I get panic attacks. You are a lovely person. I don't understand why people carry on like that. I would have been happy to hang with such a fun, lively person. People can be so dumb.

If I'm not the same place you worked before, you made the change. You went back as a woman, and in the beginning, you liked working in the office You made the right move to quit. I'm the type of person to find the one who sticks out and doesn't fit in and try to be their friend A little kindness goes a long way Shake off the bad vibes and go forward with your head held high. You will find the perfect job in time. We are here for you.

I would've done the exact same thing, Congratulations 🥳🥂 People were probably staring at you because they envy you. When you're trans you feel totally "normal," and it's easy to forget that to most people, you're something unique.

You seem really happy about the decision! And after watching all the shorts regarding your job over the past time, I feel like it was the right one. I'm excited to hear everything you want to share and I have to say that I love these longer videos. It's very calming to listen to your voice and I always appreciate such a cool person from the trans community (I'm ftm from Germany). Stay strong and hopefully enjoy all upcoming additions to the house (like a shower😄).

Aw Alexis, it’s an awful feeling dreading going to work and I hope you’ll follow your own path and do your own thing to create an income. It’s painful to listen to your sense of apology saying “I know it’s not the right thing” [to phone in sick]. It bloody is if you are made to feel so uncomfortable that it’s affecting your mental health to the point where you’re escaping at any opportunity you can to sit in your car. I do hope you contact ACAS for advice and take them to a tribunal. Chin up sweetie x Side note - watch those nails! So many nail bars don’t give a damn about the damage they do to the natural nail. (As a beauty therapist from days gone by, would suggest you try a Backscratchers stockist) it makes me cringe to think of the damage most ‘nail technicians’ do to the natural nails x

So proud of you. You are you and the work is not you. A lot of people don't get it. I have an extremely toxic colleague who makes me think about quitting sometimes. Otherwise there are many aspects that I do like about the job. She won't ever win, I won't quit just bc of her comments. However, I know I would be much happier somewhere else. But I would rather her go than having to quit. Ps. Hoola bronzer is very good

Hi Alexis, I feel like I'm playing catch up, on your KZbin posts. I hope you are working again. Being outed at work was never an issue for me. I was open with my employer and associates about my transition. I have received amazing support. I work at Sephora so the large majority of my customers are women. Only a very, very small amount of them find it important to them to misgender me with malice. I never confront them, they aren't worth my time or energy. Your insights on be trans have been so spot on for me. Thank you for being the voice of, I believe, so many trans women. Stay beautiful, inside and out. Peace Sheila

Ive just come across your channel your channel and what a breath of fresh air you are! I'll be honest with you, it was getting harder and harder to see transgenderism as something positive. As a woman im appalled at what has been happening to woman's sport and how some men are just using woman as a costume. You look genuine and with a wonderful energy. I have nothing but respect and appreciation for you darling. Plus you are trully beautiful. Wish i had your eyes :)

When things like that happen at work, it isn’t “just” about the events themselves (although, in your case, that is straight up bullying, so it is serious), it is about how draining it is. It effects your whole life. The stress and the dread are constant. You did the best thing you could do for yourself, but it is annoying that the people making you feel like that did not suffer any real consequences.

I really admire you and all you stand for I think you’re beautiful and kind and open minded which is why I feel I need to write this comment to maybe give you a different perspective. I think you’re being a little unfair on the workplace. They’ve admitted that they’re not yet where they would like to be on the diversity front and they’re actively addressing that. By the sounds of it they have supported you publicly and privately in an attempt to provide a workplace where everyone feels comfortable. I’ve worked in male dominated workplaces and quite often was called “mate”, I say “mate” to both my male and female friends. As for the having to swipe out to go to your car, EVERYONE had to do that. If it’s company policy that, for security sake staff don’t leave the working area you have to abide by that like everyone else. Here’s the biggie - You say you “tried the canteen for a week” and you felt uncomfortable, have you considered that being in middle Yorkshire this will probably be the staff’s first encounter with a trans woman and as such maybe they felt uncomfortable too? It’s all a learning process, for you to learn to let your guard down and for them to learn that working with a trans person is no big deal and is part of normal life. Being in the depths of Yorkshire this is all new to them, they don’t know you well enough to feel that they can come up to you and chat about how you’d like to be addressed or what is ok to say and what isn’t etc This is made worse by the fact the other guy got sacked (quite rightly) for saying the wrong thing, you think they’re going to risk making small talk with you in the canteen when they might inadvertently say the wrong thing and end up being sacked? There’s no doubt it’s a difficult situation and I think some things the employer has done to sort it has in fact made it worse (the guy getting sacked didn’t help!) and has actually highlighted and singled you out to be “different” and getting special treatment compared to the other staff. Add on the fact that you go out to your car at every opportunity so don’t mix with anyone during breaks and lunch that then reinforces the whole she’s different” “untouchable” perception leaving people not knowing what’s appropriate to say and not say, can’t talk to anyone to find out, can’t talk to you for fear of getting it wrong and then getting sacked. I think the reality is that your social media is taking off (yaay!!!) and is taking up a lot of your time, your not particularly enjoying admin work and the pay’s 💩 , so you’ve decided to Jack your job in and give it a go! It doesn’t matter what that employer would have done you wouldn’t have been happy because what you truly want to be doing is focusing on social media because it’s your passion. Even if your employer had got their diversity measures perfect, the staff were 100% inclusive and everything was textbook perfect you STILL wouldn’t have been happy because you DIDN’T WANT TO BE THERE which is an absolutely fine reason to want to leave. In fact there’s no better reason to want to leave a job than to follow your passion (and I wish you EVERY success with it, you’re going to smash it!!!!) but please be honest about it, don’t say it was the employer’s fault you left. They were working HARD to do things right and at a time when a lot of employers wouldn’t bother I think they deserve credit for their attempts and what they achieved in a short space of time. All the VERY best for the future, I look forward to seeing LOTS of videos from you in the coming months 🤞🏻 xx

You have to do what’s best for you. If you enter a workplace and feel suffocated, it’s not a healthy environment. If I couldn’t get away from people at lunch when I worked, I would have lost my mind. Add in your layers and it’s like someone is holding your head under water. Keep smiling beautiful.
