The newest update added a much easier way to get silverfish. All you need is one Netherwart and one stone and you can brew a potion of infestation. Anything with that effect will spawn silverfish when hit.

@@tomplays_MC Yes, until the passive mob cap is filled, so when you go exploring, make sure there aren't too many mobs in your spawn chunks ( I dont know the value of this mob cap however )
