Great video. I doubt that the RR Sport will retain the “gills” from the RR. They usually have an air vent there instead. And I think your final image might need a black roof. But the rest looks pretty good!

That was the one change I wanted to see from what he came up with - lose the door gills and add a fender vent. But I really liked watching this, thoughtful work for sure 👍🏽

Not sure if you are aware, but the 2006 Range Rover Sport was based on the Land Rover Discovery platform (for cost cutting purposes). Hence the 'sportier version' technically had almost nothing in common with the Range Rover and was rather heavy.

The factory lights on the new one looks good but the sport never had the same rear lights as any of the larger Range Rover. The sport always had a totally different light shape. Im not saying that this particular redesign was a hit but I wouldn’t expect the sport to have those same slender tail lights.

Hi Bembli, great design once again. One thing only. You should minimize the side vents/ gills. On the big range rover they are always vertical, but on the RR Sport they are smaller. I am amazed you didnt mention that. Cheers

With what the new range rover is having for its taillights, I would just squash the outer part (the red lights) and make them a little bit wider for the sportier looks on the redesign. Otherwise, all is great.

What do you think of the Land Rover Discovery? It's interesting that its design changed so much going from the LR4 to LR5, so I used to think that new RRs would also follow a similar design change. I quite like the LR5 after its slight facelift but the rising beltline still looks too much, making the rear end look very heavy IMO.

If you stopped at 12:15, it would've been perfect. I get the apprehension some people have about letting go of the rear bumper but think of it this way: we started getting rid of bumpers at the front 20 years ago because it made cars look like they have an ugly underbite worse than Charles II of Spain. It's high time we got rid of the back ones as well. But watching your analysis reminded me how much I love the styling of the 3rd Gen (L322) Range Rover. I think it's the best and most definitive looking Range Rover of the lot. Better than even the Classic. If I were to rank the styling of each gen, I'd go: 3, 5, 1, 4, 2.
@andrewl.97363 жыл бұрын
I would disagree about the bumpers. For sporty crossovers, like the new ones from Genesis, a bulky front bumper would look ridiculous. However, for more utilitarian or rugged vehicles, like jeeps, land rovers, tahoes, and trucks in general, big bumpers fit much better. The integrated bumpers in the new tundra make it look like a lifestyle toy rather than the serious workhorse that it historically was. The lack of bumpers in the new land rover makes it look....too flat? Like a low-effort design? Or just too sleek compared to land rovers of old.

Honestly the stock rear light design looks like little bit off proportion. Because it is not communicating with its central horizontal line. The older version was better, which connected the rear light with the center horizontal line, and you did the same, now it is perfect 👏👌
@flyme77663 жыл бұрын
The new Sport, as like in the past, takes it Front and Interior design styling from the full size RR but the Rear has followed the Evoque. It is no different in this case. The rear/ tail lights will be like the Evoque but 'blacked out' so you will see no red until lit (like the RR) The fake side air vents will be like the Evoque not RR. Basically Sport will be a big Evoque without the wheel arches and better interior.

Car years aren’t necessarily determined by manufacture date. It’s more so determined by the time it is available on the market. If they are going to put a car out on the market for 2023 for example, they would have to start making these cars from some time in 2021 to be able to make enough of them, test them, ship them out to different countries and so on. By time it’s ready for sale, it would be about mid-late 2022.
