Technically, there is no hard mode in game, but its actually just a challenge made by other players

i tried the hard mode challenge and found it really burnt me out so i decided to just not do it anymore so i could enjoy the game again and i now am in the progress of making a tropical citycore island

idk if i'll get a new switch anytime soon, but i kinda wanna start playing my current island in hardmode ^^; idk if i ever will though, i've had this island since the beginning on new horizons and i'm still not done terraforming and there's an abundance of flowers... lolol. but maybe i'll do a hardmode day every once in a while, cause this seems like a fun challange
