I've been playing for a super long time and I'm still too scared to even go into a fortress, I've been focused on building cool stuff and learning different things about the game. I'm so proud of you Danny!!! :D If you want more stuff to do in your world now that the ender dragon is dead, here's some fun things: 1. fight the wither (you can summon it with 3 wither skeleton skulls - it's easiest to get the skulls if you kill wither skeletons with a looting sword) 2. go to the outer End islands and get an elytra so you can fly 3. try building fancy things (you could build a monument for newspaper, or a new house, or anything - it's a lot easier to build once you have elytra) 4. try defeating a raid (use the grey pillagers to summon a raid on a village and then keep all the villagers alive. If you do it on hard mode, you can get lots of good items from it, like saddles and totems of undying, which can prevent you from dying!!) 5. try exploring different biomes to find different pets (if you go to a jungle, you can get pandas and parrots, and if you find a mushroom island, you can get mooshrooms, which are like mushroom cows!!) :D

I'm reading up on the armor rating of different pieces of armor made of different materials and it turns out a gold helmet is the same armor value as iron and chainmail so it's actually the most efficient to use a gold helmet in the nether.
