"Oh no, company will sell my data without my consent !!" *Proceeds to upload photo of own family on IG with location turned on.* And it's very difficult to avoid being tracked on the internet. Companies are selling your info just for ads anyway, but if you are so concerned about your privacy, go dig how much you have to spend money, time and focus to learn being almost untraceable on the internet. I wouldn't buy any appliance with AI or any other "smart" feature. The dumber a device is, the better it is for longevity and repairability. When looking at the schematic of a fridge, if there's more than 1 page of ladder/electrical diagram, it's too complicated for nothing. It's a fridge. It needs a compressor, 2 switches, 2 lights, a fan or two and thermistances. All stuff that can easily be repaired if they break. Too many "smart" appliance become junk because they tied everything to one or two complicated boards with SoC. Instead of being old school with relays, timers, and switches.

The smart home stuff is great, cool to see it continue evolving, key thing for future home though has to be the integration, you can’t just have a limited number of recipes appear on that fridge for example, there needs to be a way to add you old family recipes or integrate with other services! Preferably with an open source smart home system such as Home Assistant!
