It's cool to see that these pet parents are humble enough to admit that they didn't know. I believe these parents will keep this dog brushed properly from now on. Love these dogs!

I have started to brush my poodle mix babies everyday instead of a few times each week and thanks to your videos about matted dogs, I have realised that I must look after my dogs' fur. Thanks DeDe for your videos they changed my outlook on mantainence of poodle mix fur.

A Matt of hair is basically just hair that is all tangled together. It kinda sticks together like a dreadlock. It’s nothing that can be brushed out. Once a poodle or poodle mix gets matts, it’s over! You have to cut them off! There’s no combing thru them. Plus you will subject your dog to lots of pain pulling at their hair and skin. I have 3 standard poodles and the best way to prevent matts is to regularly brush their hair. I know it sucks and it’s not always easy to keep up with, but it’s the only way to prevent them

v ttd if you want fluffy get a shepherd their coats still can be high maintenance brushing but don’t Matt as much as poodle types. Poodle types if you don’t blow dry right after the bath they match.

Why don't they make silent Clippers, dogs wouldn't be so nervous getting groomed.
@trueenvy2455 жыл бұрын
Angel Shining I’d assume it’s because they need to be really strong to constantly cut threw most dogs fur and having a silent one would sacrifice some of that power.

Just a warning for the pet parents. Artificial turf can get insanely hot in summer... As in hotter than exposed cement and instant burns. It needs to be either in the shade or checked before the dog sets foot on it to prevent injury.

brittany jones Yeah. I hadn’t watched the ENTIRE thing before I wrote that 😜. He definitely would look better without it. I think she may have taken too much off the sides leaving it too skinny.
@debh34045 жыл бұрын
Bluey's Momma TPaz After watching the ENTIRE video, I’ve changed my mind. She should have left more hair on the sides of it to make it wider. But really, no harm done. I bet they come back and ask her to remove the lion mane.
@temeryn33125 жыл бұрын
I think she did that per the pet parent's request. My opinion is it does not look very good. I think the pets mom liked the fullness of the look of the dog (when she didn't realize it was mostly matts) so didn't want to loose all of it, wanted the dog to still have a bit of it's fur left. Personally I would have asked for a complete shave everywhere and started over fresh with better grooming, taking however long it takes to get back to the "full" fur look. =)

Neutering has no affect on aggression according to the lastest research. It can have some health consequences as well.
@stacietrask49875 жыл бұрын
State your sources...neutering absolutely calms dogs down and not neutering increases health risks later in life.
@mntngirl45125 жыл бұрын
groomingdogs calmly I agree with the unwanted puppies part but that’s the responsibility of the dog owner. And I know plenty of aggressive dogs that were neutered and a few that are intact with no temperament issues. All my dogs have been fixed but I will reconsider on my next one because of the latest science. An aggressive rehab trainer I know says the same. Most of the dogs he rehabs are fixed. His GSD are not. No aggression in them. Training is the key in his opinion.

I’m at 16:41 & that owner doesn’t know how to brush the dog😳. She’s brushing superficially - idk if Dede has a solo dedicated video just on brushing (not counting Max the dog that comes in just for brushing) but this pet parent needs a tutorial. *EDIT* ok 22min & Dede took over brushing - I really hope the owner paid attention, you can’t brush superficially, you can’t rake the skin, you have to do it section by section swiftly. If she paid attention & they brush everyday that sweet doggie won’t get matted again. 🐶
