Blacks have poor educational outcomes. Women, although they're more than half of the population, work half as much as men. It's a deliberate attempt to make it seem as though Britain has had black populations for far longer than it really has. I never saw any black people growing up until I took a trip to London in my 20s. There were a handful of people of Pakistani origin where I lived but no black people at all. Black people did not exist in any significant numbers in Britain until well after WW2, but that does not stop the media pushing this false narrative.

I did a media degree with emphasis on advertising and I spotted this trend a few years ago. Everyone I pointed it out to said they hadn't noticed it but within a day or two were repeating my own words back to me. This happened over and over again. As the panellist on the right said this will lead to division which I believe is the point. I like to watch period/costume dramas on TV but I avoid any that have black washed the historical accuracy.

Also, there are very few ads featuring older white people. Unless you count all the funeral plan ads or equity release company ads which are almost exclusively white. Having said that, they’ve even shoe-horned a black son in law and mixed race kids into one of those now as well! There’s no escape. We don’t live in a black majority country, so why do the tv ads make me feel like a stranger in my own country.None of these ads speak to me; I don’t see myself or people like me fairly represented in them so why should I buy their products?

I find it bizarre that non white people would choose to live under such oppression in the west. Take any other place in the world…let’s say Japan. Advertisers and programme makers need to realise that outside of London and some other big cities, there are many places in the country where you can go for weeks without seeing a poc. Looking at the tv, ads, dramas, movies, soaps, every single programme, you could be mistaken in thinking you were in Africa. 97% of the total number of black peoples in the U.K. ( less than 2.5million ) live in London, advertisers need to remember this. It’s gotten so bad that the white actors who have been in the regular ads for a long time have now been replaced by black actors and white men seem to be a disappearing species! We are a majority white country and outside of London this fact is very evident. White people are being attacked from all sides, it will come as no surprise if, eventually our tolerance and acceptance wears out!!

Last year I had to have a meeting with a person who was about to fly out of the UK , they were staying in Hounslow because of the nearness to Heathrow. I arranged to come up to their hotel , I had to drive into Hounslow find the hotel and wait in a common area for my 1 hour meeting . I can honestly say from the moment I entered Hounslow till I drove out of the place I never saw 1 white face , all the hotel staff seemed to be Asian of some type , maybe even Hispanic. All I can say is that I have worked abroad most of this century and for the last 10 years divided my time between three countries. The UK has changed so much over those 10 years and people of a generation of 45+ are just fed up of it. As a white middle aged man you are made to feel unwelcome in your own country. We are at fault for everything and cannot state the obvious for fear of being racist, which we must be in any case, or transphobic or anti LGBT whatever, I also have several gay friends and they don’t like this lgbtq+ their reasoning is why do they get put in a box with other people with completely different issues. I truly fear for the UK you don’t get this rubbish in France or most of Europe and certainly not Turkey or the Middle East

@@Emma-ex8gx my best advice would be to get out and work abroad, it was the best thing I did in my life and don’t go with preconceptions. I have worked across Europe the Middle East Far East and the US and other than Japan each place has changed my opinion of it, especially the UAE

I live in France (région parisienne) and can assure you we do get this tripe over here too. Endless adverts featuring a white woman with a black man or a jolly family of a black family driving off in their expensive new car. What I haven't found, up to now, is blacks appearing in historical dramas but no doubt it won't be long before we'll be treated to a black Louis XIV or Marie-Antoinette. This whole ridiculous nonsense is enough to make you weep and I no longer recognise the UK as the country it used to be. Far too much pandering to minorities and a lack of traditional respect and values have meant England has gone on to the dogs.

I was an employer (30 staff) for all of my adult life. I never saw 'colour' in any of my staff. I saw skill sets and 'getalong-ability'. I'm long time retired now and sadly I see 'colour' bias everyday now. In every aspect of life. I have to say, I have come to resent it. So sad.
