I didn't train for 1 week, and I kept eating 3000 calories every single day and this is what happened to my physique...
Absolutely nothing at all.
This week I took a week off of training because I had a deload week. Sure I could have deloaded properly and still trained, but I'm a human being. If I need that time off, I'll take that time off... That and I'm lazy 🤣
Losing muscle isn't as easy as you think, so don't be afraid if you're not able to train for 1 or 2 weeks.
Of course I'm not talkin about taking a week off all the time, but if you're doing it every 4-6 weeks, it isn't going to affect your progress, and if anything, it's actually more beneficial as it allows you to recover.
You don't need to change how much you're eating, you don't need to do anything special. Just relax, and after that time off, just go back to the gym as if nothing ever happened. And also, learn to find enjoyment outside of the gym as well, you'll thank yourself later 🙂

haha u can take off as much as a month from weight training and you will barely lose muscle, I took off 2-3 weeks and i felt like i gained muscle

@@Broskiemode444 this reminds me of how I used to train excessively but wasn’t eating and the moment I stopped working out and ate a shit Ton I blew up Ik all of it isn’t muscle but it’s hard to believe I gained much fat when I still have abs that are visible In most instances if I’m not bloated and even then you can kind of see it especially when I flex

It's intresting because I think at that point not only would you not be losing muscle, you would still probably be gaining a tiny amount as your body would still be repairing and upgrading from your previous visit.

@ozzy598 remember that a deload isn’t the same as a sick week. A real deload is when you take your volume way down, eat at maintenance or thereabouts. If you’re sick, rest, then deload when you’re back to normal. I’ve made this mistake myself!

Tbh I've taken a month off at a time and it's helped me tremendously. Sometimes you don't realize your body is past its limit. Taking a week or two ever now and then will only help you.

My brother did that, used to be a wrestler. He's chubby, but his muscle has been preserved pretty well. Still has about the same strength.

2 weeks off. Just got back today. And was stronger than when I left off. Endurance down a tad. But strength was great. Depending on the person, the break can refresh you and let your ligaments and tendons heal. Over time you figure out what’s best for you.

Another thing to remember: you only need 1/3 of the volume to maintain your muscle mass. Basically if you’re going to the gym 3 times a week, you only need to go once or twice a week to stay how you look as long as your intensity and volume are up to snuff

I'm on the last day of my deloading week, and I don't think many people understand how important it is to not go several months whilst working out 6 days a week without taking a deloading week. I remember when I first started working out, I was in the gym 7 days a week and didn't realise you needed to have rest days. Then, about 3 months in, I was told about deloading. My physique changed drastically. Deloading is very important, and nowadays I take a deloading week once every month or maybe two at the maximum.

just came back from a 1-week holiday and i was kinda worried about losing 2 months of weight-loss progress, but to my surprise, i didn’t gain any weight at all, still weigh the same as the day i left. even my brother who is also managing his weight only gained 1kg. so to anyone worried about their weight, just relax and enjoy yourself. forget about your worries and have fun. you deserve it.

Literally perfect timing for me. I just travelled to Asia from the UK and on the first day I got bit by a stray cat and had to get vaccinations 😅 My body's been so weak from lack of sleep (jetlag) and my immune system sapping my energy, so I haven't gotten the chance to get my exercise in. I've been worried about losing my progress but this helped. Today is a new week so I'll try to get back on routine.

I also take deload week. It reminds you that you have life outside of gym too. Take that time and spend it with your loved folks becoz time is clocking from everyone's life and gym isn't going anywhere but people do. So yeah sometime the best training is to take a time off yeah you won't gain anything physically but mentally you'll be more motivated. That's my take on deload week.

I definitely take the week off before I start my monthly. Or I go to the gym less frequently. I'm usually so exhausted I just sleep in. Self care is the best care ❤️
