Did you find a glitch that let's you skip to the wyvern fight without collecting all the emeralds. I had had 1 emerald then 2 (from the boss) it really scared me because I wanted to do everything.

@@pinkredyellowblue3785 I didn't find it, but yeah its been known for a bit now that you can access the Wyvern boss early.

I can't wait to see how the speedrunner community for this game develops in the future. What you have here is a game with much optimization potential and many different viable routes to get from place to place, combined with the usual sonic-game-jank that is to be expected from Sega at this point. Which I'm sure will make for some very interesting strategies in the near future... Just the way Yuji Naka intended I'm most sure.

Stuff like this is exactly why people want slope physics in Sonic games, being able to do crazy skips like this is insanely satisfying and I'm super glad it's somewhat made its way back into Frontiers. Sequence breaking like this obviously shouldn't be intentionally allowed, but just being able to skip parts of level design or being able to traverse the world better with your knowledge of how Sonic's movement works should really be in the next game.

WOW! This is absolutely amazing. Huge find, I remember when we worked on the Sonic Adventure 2 minimum jumps you had a great mind for finding stuff. Not shocked at all to see this. Great stuff!

I came across this video because I have spent several hours trying to beat Sonic Frontiers without the B button, and this section was the very first one I needed to press the B button for. I appreciate this video because it saves all the progress that I have made towards no B button. I don’t have right now to test it on my game, but I do want if it is version specific. I hope you don’t mind, but I’m leaving this comment as proof that I didn’t copy your idea when I finally get done with the video. I love your channel, especially the crazy stuff you did in your “How many jumps to beat Sonic Adventure”, which is why I even decided to attempt this myself. I also can’t wait to see how you tackle some of the stuff in this game, A bit of advice for you if you don’t already know, but you can beat every jump rope challenge (at least up until this boss) without jumping thanks to the guard allowing you to stall in mid-air. I hope this information helps with your challenge.

this is actually easier than doing the sequence normally. The part where you have to jump onto one platform and jump over the shield as it comes at you is like fucking frame tight and this is the worst part of the entire game.

Minor note here: once you come back here with the Spin Dash, this becomes much easier to do. And it appears that activating the Squid is required, otherwise the trigger for the end of the cutscene doesn’t load. Oddly enough, there’s a death plane on the crescent shaped island as well, so watch out for that. EDIT: Strangely, this cutscene happened immediately after I had left 3-1 with all seven Vault Keys. I didn’t even grab the Chaos Emerald; I could see it in the cutscene. A similar thing happened on Ares island where I was able to unlock the crane puzzle without grabbing the grey Emerald.

Yes, it works on the latest version on switch. If you search on KZbin there should be other tutorials made by speedrunners that you might find helpful

Sadly the game creates a barrier where you originally enter the Giganto boss fight arena, but (spoilers for the fourth island) . . . . . . . . The fourth island, Rhea Island, is legit just the other half of Kronos, and the crater where Giganto was is fully accessible again, but only on that map.

So I've been doing a ton of different runs recently and on this latest run I freed Tails and then used one of those flying enemies you ned to parry twice then you can ride to get to the red chaos emerald early and the shield sequence started to play. I'm just theory crafting here since th blue emerald was STILL THERE what would happen if you did this after activating the cutscene with the red emerald and the grabbing the blue emerald?

This was done on PC, but it is doable on Switch. No you don't have to jump at all to get this launch, its just boost running off an odd bit of terrain.

It is a tricky glitch, but it works, and speedrunners have been using it for a few weeks now at this point.
