This was an under-appreciated series. It's amazing how excellent, intelligent series last only 1-2 seasons while horrible ones seem to continue forever.

Thank you so much for posting TSS. I was in high school when this first aired,it was a fun,scary,eerie show to view at that time. Sort of The X-Files for the '70s back then.

Wonderful show. For many, it was a serious--yet entertaining--introduction to ESP. It was an eye opener--because, though fictional, it showed that many had psychic powers. And Gary Collins as Dr. Rhodes was so fantastic--because he was serious about what was happening, the rest of us became as well....

I barely remember this show but I remember knowing that I liked it. I turned 7 years old in July of 1972 and there's really only a few that I remember. The Sixth Sense, The Night Stalker and one I can't remember the name of but it had a couple of kids, one named Buffy. Those are the only three I remember from this time frame and earlier that I really liked.

I remember bits and pieces of this show, Does anyone know what the episode was called,where Rhodes has too confront some old guy/ghost in the attic. I remember the old ghost was in a rocking chair, and being 9 years old. Scared the crap out of me. lol

Where can I find the DVD box set for this series? Universal just came out with Rod Serling's Night Gallery Third and Final Season after about three years wait.

What a great loss! Gary Collins will always be remembered,as "THE SIXTH SENSE" was his greatest accomplishment! created by Anthony Lawrence,this ABC series from 1972,was unique and mysterious,,showing that other worldly view of the Paranormal and ESP visions. this series was the 70s answer to John Newland's "ONE STEP BEYOND",ironicly revived in Fall 1978 as "THE NEXT STEP BEYOND". still,this 70s Universal TV series was such a superior,and way better then the 1997 name sake movie,of no relation

Around 1970-73 there was an color episode of a show like this with an SF segment which had a young man who was dissatisfied with his appearance, although he was a normal human. It turned out his family and people all had green tentacles sprouting from their faces (something like that), and by their standard he was deformed. I think they exchanged him so that he could join humans. Was this in Night Gallery?
@BassByTheBay7 жыл бұрын
routeman680 Pretty sure you mean the episode where they focus on a deformed teenager in a future Earth where his hideous appearance makes a normal life impossible, and he's becoming increasingly despondent. His father arranges an exchange with an alien race which is asking for *any* human participants. I clearly remember the scene where the boy walks down a corridor in the alien world and meets a normal-looking human male. They have a brief exchange wherein the male makes it clear he is the subject of scorn in his world. Sure enough, other aliens come out to greet the boy, and they look just like him, which makes him happy. Vintage Serling!

With a self conscious performance like that it's no wonder Christina Crawford failed as an actress. ;-)
@cor81297 жыл бұрын
To be fair, if you look at a lot of the tv shows, back at that time, many actors and actresses, were not the A stars of television. Many of them gave horrible performances and proved that they were B stars and bit players. Tons of TV movies, at that time, also employed B actors/actresses. Christina Crawford and many others, fell into this category of bad acting. TV has come such a long way, from that time. Today, that kind of acting, would not be tolerated by any good Director, worth his/her craft much less a Network, Cable Station or Movie Studio.
@jaymesguy2396 жыл бұрын
And to also be fair, it would have been difficult for anyone to pull of a role where you had been introduced in that Geisha monster get-up!
@jaymesguy2396 жыл бұрын
Shouldn't he be haunting Nixon to get him to end that disgusting war, instead of that girl? I quite like this show, it was a good idea, perhaps without that drip Gary Collins? And, yes, Christina Crawford was bad. At least, she would soon retire. What excuse did Gary Collins have?
