BTW my parents were immigrants and my late father had a PhD and spoke fluent English before he arrived, as a third language. The whole premise for mass immigration is based on a false narrative. The mantra in Canada is, “We’re aging and need people desperately...” This is not accurate. The OECD maintains something called a “dependency ratio” for all member countries and a few other nations such as China. Question: if there is such a shortage of workers, then why is our unemployment rate at 6.5% with projections of growing another percent or two by Q1 2025? My brother is a drafter and can’t seem to get a call back from any engineering firms. My daughter is a graduate from an accredited US university (way higher level / quality of education than any Canadian university) and she can’t get a call back even from a retail shop in a mall.
