There's a ton of useless scumbags like this, it's the same type of people who go to thrift stores buying everything that is branded and looks pricey just to upsell it. I saw a video of someone who was so proud because they found a baby crib for like 15$ once and they were going to resell it for like 500$. There's a single father or mother making 10$/hour somewhere barely managing to feed their familly that most likely could have used a 15$ baby crib, and the person who pays 500$ for a used crib can clearly pay 50$ more for a brand new one. I hate these people

Yes, thank you for pointing it out, in many cases the value that a seller thinks something is worth is ludicrously over the actual value. It means that in many cases when you wanna buy a specific thing, you’re either going to wait 6 months for it to pop up on auction for a normal price or spend a couple thousand bucks more than the item is actually worth, which is obviously not a good choice. If sellers would just stop overpricing their stuff theyd get to actually offload their items and wed get to actually buy stuff

The precious moments reminded me of something. My paternal great aunt whom I have never met was put in a retirement home last year, and her husband had died before. She didn’t have any kids, didn’t want any of them, and we had never met. However, they seemed to have good paychecks due to the AMOUNT OF FREAKING PRECIOUS MOMENTS SHE BOUGHT. Right down the road from their house, there was a Precious Moments store. So, she would go there and just buy them. Whichever ones caught her eye. She didn’t even open some of them. She just collected them. Now, the reason I mentioned that we never met, is because in her will, she gave every single one of those statues to us. Every. Single. One. She had over 2,000. She had one from the first year of production. She bought the ornaments, the dolls, statues, sets, etc. she just set them on her shelves around the house. No form of organization. Nothing. My paternal extended family went to her house to gather them. It took a LONG time. It took us over 10 hours to pack and move all of the PM stuff out of my grandparents’ basement. Now, my grandma and my sister are traumatized, my dad has a camping trailer filled with them, and we never want to see any of those statues again, unless it’s to shoot them. The only things I kept from the whole debacle were some of the Native American dolls because they were actually really cute. All of the white ones/mass produced ones were super creepy. I also kept a vase from it, so I could paint over the purple, and make it look like Jean from Genshin, because the little girl is holding dandelions. I also kept a snow globe, a locket without a photo in it (yet), and a girl with a snow globe in her hand. If my brother will let me use his, or if I can get a gun myself, I want to try to shoot the globe without really damaging the statue. Well, there’s actually two of em. Seriously, though. Precious moments are going to haunt the dreams of my paternal family forever.

when the porcelain dolls came on, it reminded me of my grandma‘s old sewing room. She had a huge sewing room. The ceiling was at least 20 feet and up above close to the ceiling. There was a balcony thing with glass covering and she would put the dolls up there. She had at least 30 up there. They were kind of creepy but also weirdly cool. when they were moving my mom, encouraged her to sell them because they would be worth a lot of money and there were no other places to put them. I’m not sure how much money she got off of them but if they’re really antique (and maybe the certain brand she had??), they can be worth a lot.
